As a beginner, new artists copy what older, more experienced masters have done and over time they get better and develop their own style.

Developing your own style means you must practice constantly, learn by carefully observing and by trial and error. Keep practicing.

You say it like you're ashamed of it. If you ask me, you're inspired by the best and now you've become the best. It's something to be proud of, and that's why I didn't see it as offensive when Vincent said you were influenced by other artists before.

I focus primarily on inspirations precisely because I'm lousy at picking out particular points of interest when I'm overtaken by the overall quality, style, and... je ne sais quoi of the artings.
It's nothing to be ashamed of; if anything, *I* should be ashamed of being so tongue-tied that I cannot deliver a proper evaluation.
