Re: Poser testing

I think it might be stuck. I've been seeing "Encoding in progress..." for over an hour.

Re: Poser testing

Sorry about that. Looked into it and it seems that daily motion videos doesn't work right away. Tried to attach the avi. file on the forum here, but it didn't work

It should be working sooner or later though

Re: Poser testing

Okey, I can try to change to another format later and see if it makes any difference

Re: Poser testing

Seems to be working now.

Good first try! As someone that has been using Poser for quite a long time, I can tell you that it's not easy.

If I may make a suggestion that should make your life easier, though? On those parameter dials, you should have a right-pointing triangle for each of them. For the ones being animated, click on the triangle and pick "Graph". This will open the graph editor for that parameter, featuring a line that curves over time (frames from left to right, parameter amount from top to bottom). You can force the line to act in a certain way for certain body parts' parameters by clicking the keyframe (denoted by a black tickmark on the red line) then on one of the four buttons on the bottom left of the graph editor.

The left one is "spline" which allows a smooth transition from one keyframe to another, starting slowly, moving quicker, then slowing down as it approaches the key frame.

The second is "linear" which allows for a straight mathematical transition from one keyframe to the next.

The third is "constant" which allows you to hold the parameter all the way from one keyframe to the next. If there's a difference, it'll snap the parameter from one position to the next over exactly one frame, causing a pop in the animation.

The fourth is "break spline". This will separate the spline on the left from the spline on the right to create a hard transition. This is useful if you have something hitting a hard object such as the ground and you want, say a foot, to spline its way to the ground then hit the ground without passing through it or slowing down to smoothly settle on the ground.

The graph editor in Poser needs a serious upgrade. One of my main gripes with the program. In other 3D software, you can fine tune the graph editor much more using handles like the Pen tool in Photoshop. I wish that'd be a feature they would implement.

Good luck on your animating adventures!

Re: Poser testing

Cheers buddy! Yeah, I have been working with that the last few days I'm pretty much in a experimental state and this clip is just something I was fooling around with.

I really appriciate any feedback I can get to improve the animation. I really wish I knew how to use photshop and so on, in order to create better and smoother clips. Personally I'm into Body inflation but part of that is the BE. So if I ever figure out how to make people spherical in poser pro, I would make a lot of inflation clips! Breast expansion will have to do for now

The last few days I have been experimenting with two persons interacting with each other and I will upload it in a few days.

Re: Poser testing

Ah, unfortunately, Poser's probably not going to be the software you want for such kinds of things (spherical inflations). The biggest problem with spherical inflations (and other transformations of that sort), is that you would need to do some fancy vertex editing to get it to look good and that would require a much more robust 3D animating package than Poser can offer.

You would need to define exactly how the vertices are to move and how they would react to things like bending inflated limbs and whatnot. That's something that's beyond my ken. I'm sure it can be done but, hell if I know how to do it.

Re: Poser testing

If you could somehow export the details to a program like Blender, you might be able to create custom animations.
HOWEVER!
Poser is a "I'll hold your hand" kind of program, and Blender is a "Do whatever, see if I care" kind of program.
Blender is completely free, and has TONS of tutorials, but you need to scale the tutorials a bit as they become out of date (as certain features don't trigger the same way and you will need to figure out how to do it the new way)

Another clip I've been fooling around with lately. Enjoy!

Says it's still encoding, but should be working shortly
