Vargulf
So, just came across this on vimeo:
http://vimeo.com/104376972 It's a teaser trailer for a film called Vargulf that is in very early pre-production. The premise is a chick who fools around with the wrong shit at a party and becomes a werewolf. No joke. Additionally, the movie is meant to be experienced POV through the girl's perspective. Regardless of the premise, the trailer is quite intriguing. I just hope they don't skate around showing any true process by using the POV nature of the film. I hope this is good and hope that's not the transformation scene there because that would suck. Although it was very good but it looked like she fainted or something which I was disappointed about. It's a very kool concept because we get to see how a woman would react to a werewolf transformation in pov. Let's hope for the best but we know how that goes -_-

Very inventive use of camera angles and sound effects. Really gives a sense of atmosphere without needing to show it.

The fainting was a major bummer, not gonna lie. Other than that though this was wonderfully inventive and looks really promising! Would love to see where this project goes.

The director does state it's just a teaser to show what type of horror movie he is trying to do so hopefully that's not the actual transformation scene as he stated it's in early preproduction which is still to early to tell.

Damn impressive teaser. Good atmosphere and some very clever camera-work, not just the angles but also how they shot the POV in the mirror. Sometimes showing less is the way to go, especially on a budget, as the imagination is the best special effect. Heck, the original Cat People didn't show the transformation yet it's still a good eerie horror movie. That said, I definitely understand the desire to see more...
