Planning a Horse TF Story based on colonial era folklore

While on a training trip, I learned of an old legend from Colonial times about with es who would turn men into horses and ride them. They'd awake the next morning with no memory of it, but very tired.

I'm thinking of doing a modern interpretation with a female becoming the horse instead of a male. The basic story line is the main character rents a room from an older woman. She transforms into a horse while sleeping. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Some things I'm wrestling with are:

1. What does the witch do with her new horse? Ride just ride?

2. I want a detail of the feet turing hooves. How should the feet change?

3. Possible ways for her to figure out what's happening?

Horses were the automobiles of the colonial era. They supplied transportation, food, muscle power, etc. Think of it like she steals a car every night and goes to parties, races, does a little work on the yard and such and then returns it. A coven might race for fun, have a equine beauty pageant, show off their spell's control and power via enhancements to their horses, odd fur patterns, etc.

The victim would wake up tired, with grass tinted morning breath. She may notice her hair still has vestiges of odd fur colors, thistles in her hair, etc. Perhaps some rope burns on her neck or arms. Also, the missing horse in the stable, but all the evidence that a horse is around, droppings, gear, smells, tracks, are all over.

Are you setting it in modern times? Or just doing a modern retelling of the story?

If it's in modern times, I think it'd be cool if the witch ran a petting zoo or rented the victim for kids parties or something like that. Maybe the victim works a graveyard shift so she sleeps during the day. That could tie into how she starts to figure out what's happening to her. Maybe her niece/nephew has a birthday party and the victim unwittingly misses it as a human but appears as a horse. Of course, that's just my idea. It's your story so feel free to take it or leave it.

With the hooves, it's usually done one of two ways - either the hands curl into fists which become the hooves, or the middle finger/toe enlarges into a hoof while the other fingers/toes whither away. The latter would probably be the best way for the feet to change, but again that's just my opinion.

Another she could start to suspect something's up (assuming a modern setting) could be torn clothing, especially if her panties suddenly have holes where her tail grew in. Maybe her vegetarian diet as a horse starts to affect her diet as a human.

with hands Merging and swelling works well. making the 2 outside fingers and thumb along with the wrists into the horse's ankle mass is the best way I can do it. here's a quick try on my part. I really struggle with Hands. I need to get the right if I'm gonna TF them good. learning anatomy and using common shapes of both the start and end forms is key.

Well, the anatomy doesn't quite work that way. Your story also needs to show, more then tell us the appearance of the characters. You have, for example:

“Would you like some tea?” Mrs. Wells asked.
“Oh no,” Amy replied. “I’m actually kind of tired. I think I’ll call it a night.”
“Okay.”

But think of how it sounds when you write some descriptions:

"Would you like some tea?" Mrs. Wells asked kindly, offering a white china cup that smelled sweet, with a hint of fresh cut grass. Amy's mouth watered for a moment at the thought of eating grass, but she shook herself and discarded the silly thought.
“Oh no,” She replied. “I’m actually kind of tired. I think I’ll call it a night.”
“Okay.” Mrs. Wells smiled, calmly returning to the kitchen as Amy stood and stretched her sore arms and back. She'd been having trouble sleeping recently, and it was beginning to get to her.
