Why does that spell even exist? (BE story)

But, so this post isn't ENTIRELY a waste, here's something short I wrote up the other day:



Tuicia sat in quiet, one leg tucked behind the other. She was filing her nails during a short break she?d given herself, before she headed back to work. She swung her legs slightly back and forth as she did, thinking on what had been going on so far. Not much, unfortunately. It had been a very slow day, in fact. So, she thought back to her lovely Madame. She smiled as she did, her cheeks becoming rosy.


As though it was planned, she heard Carline?s magically amplified voice. ?Oh, Tuicia~? She said, in a most playful tone. ?Oui, Madame?? Tuicia responded, just as playful. ?Come here, for a moment, would you?? The Frenchwoman stood. ?Oui.? She began to make her way toward Carline?s study, where she assumed the sorceress to be.


?Oh, Tuicia~? She called again. Tuicia giggled. ?Oui, Madame? Ah am coming~? Now she began to walk with a bit of bounce in her step. She wondered exactly what it was that she wanted. As she went, she noticed that she came across none of the other servants. She figured they were probably on lunch break; it seemed about the right time. ?Oh, Tuicia~? Carline called a third time, with that exact same tone. Tuicia giggled again. She thought it was adorable. ?Ah am still on ma way, Madame~?


She stood in the doorway of Carline?s study shortly. ?Oui, Madame? Ah am ?ere.?


Carline was crouched over her table, a tape recorder just off to the side. It began another round of ?Oh, Tui-? before Carline reached over and shut it off. ?M-ma Madame?? Tuicia started, with mild concern.


Carline turned her head, and it hardly looked like Carline at all. It was a shadowy figure, resembling a hellish cross between Gelly, and a man who looked very familiar to her. ?Bonjour, Cici.? It said, its voice also between Gelly?s and a man?s she definitely knew. She froze up as the abomination continued. ?Il est bon de te voir, ma ch?re fille!? It said, before lunging at her.




Tuicia shot up in bed, her hand over her rapidly beating heart. She?d broken out in a cold sweat, and was breathing quickly. After taking a few seconds, she remembered that she was in Carline?s bedroom, and in Carline?s bed. She looked down to see if she?d disturbed her Madame. It seemed as though she hadn?t; Carline was sleeping peacefully on her back, her hands folded over her bare chest.


Tuicia swallowed as her heart rate slowly made its way back to normal. ?Another nightmare?? She thought, the rational part of her mind taking over again. ?Another variation on the same thing that it always is?? She eased her way back to lying down. She looked over to Carline, who still hadn?t stirred. ?Always some variation on losing you, and? involving them??


She carefully lifted one of Carline?s hands, and took it in her own. ?Ah?m scared, Madame?? She whispered, mostly to herself. She held the sorceress?s hand to herself. ?Don?t be,? came Carline?s reply, to Tuicia?s surprise. Carline turned her head, opening her eyes and looking into Tuicia?s. ?I?m here with you.? Tuicia opened her mouth to say something, but couldn?t think of anything. Instead, she just snuggled closer to Carline, and the two went back to sleep.
