You will always get people who want everything free, now there are people who like your artwork and sadly are strapped for cash and can't give you a donation and do miss out on it.

That being said, that would be at your discretion, as you are in need of funds, the donation model is by far your better choice as it gives people a reason to donate, where as in if you offer it all for free, the people who did donate don't get anything "special" for the money.

Quite the pickle.
