cattyn and snowglare. thanks for the attempt at critiquing my "doodle"..

how ever you should be aware its just a rough sketch, you cant expect it to be refined and masterful .
i originally started out with just the "big-hipped" catgirl then added the giant chest and the therapeutic items she's using...

the sketch was half-ass , so there was no real effort put forth on details , the comic how ever came out of just a sudden urge since felt there was allot of empty space around her. so there was really no real thought to it or its lay out, but if you used your eyes a bit more you might of noticed the page starts from the left side, down then right and down .

i figured there are people smart enough to see that without me having to point that out on how to go about reading it . as for the text or the format all together there was no preplanned work or script, i just wrote how the panels spoke to me.
sure some will like some will hate, cant prevent that its the way things work plus you really cant expect me to write sophisticated hand writing on some sketch can you?

this comic was done two months ago as it said in the description,i was also unsure of posting to back then since there was really no effort at all put into this it was just a personal doodle-
(that was probably poorly made to other viewing eye's) -to humor myself then i thought hey, i guess i could post this after finding it in some sketch pile

if you can make it out even just barely of what going on in it, thats good enough.
so please try to understand before you go off a rocker that this is a sketch a doodle beside it only took like 20 or so minutes to do anyways .

i'll only refine or improve on certain stuff, depending on its attention or feed back it'll receive, if others want to see more of it or possibly in better condition then fine but since its not doing anything of the sort.
so right now it seriously doesn't matter on how it looks since after all again it's just a sketch. :P

anyways cattyn I've seen your style before had a good cartoon-like feel to it, i saw how organized you were with the layouts and all it was really enjoyable had a good time looking at your art over the years, but seriously...
you were an artist of your time sure you might be disappointed with how art is forming in the new age , or your just taking your stress out on the nearest thing to you :P it cant be helped .

what ever the case get better soon dude.

though a word of advise if your ever going to critique someone calm down first and and don't complain, you make it look more like a "jealous yissy-fit rant" more then anything, and i know you meant well..

so next time if i ever plan to make some sort of comic again, its up to me on the amount of attention to details I'll put in it. plus i really don't like bothering to add much details to a rough sketch its a waste of time if im just going to digitally ink it or use the light lamp on it for traditional inking.

if its a pencil styled art then that would be a whole other story XD

but as a novice artist in training that i currently am. i must thank you for you "attempt for words of improvement" i will keep them in mind next time so thanks.
(and no i wasn't trying to mock you there i was being serious)

Oh, sorry, it was just something I never heard before, and there could have been a chance that it was actually a form of fit one could start.

And CattyN will throw hissy fits.

Once again, I'm going by experience with the guy, you wouldn't believe how many threads that I've seen him derail with his complaining.

I’d like to know what ‘experience’ you’re citing there, Shadow, as I do not have any recollection that we’ve had personal dealings with before to warrant you knowing my character inside and out.

If i have to explain myself I will, but I honestly don’t understand why it’s so easy for people to jump down my throat about stuff that any other person probably would have done in my stead anyway. I see hundreds of works here getting criticized and flamed to death that are far worse than this, so why should this be any different?

Sutibaru, I respect you immensely for your ability to control your anger and emotions. But some of us I guess just aren’t like that. You are correct in saying that a comic can be however the artist wants it to be. However, in this case, as the original artist has already pointed out, it wasn’t originally designed to be a comic.

Am I suppose to simply say “EXCELLENT JOB! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!” on something that I find poorly done? I could say nothing at all, but then that would be leading the artist into a false sense of accomplishment. Personally I hate it when EVERYONE says “GREAT WORK” on my stuff. No one ever actually critiques anymore. While I probably shouldn’t have outburst with downright criticism, it was the umpteenth comic I had seen that day that was poorly laid out.

You cannot deny that it’s not exactly the best quality. Even the artist themselves admitted to that. And I’m not criticizing the actual DRAWING of the pictures. I’m talking about the flow from panel to panel transitions which enable me to understand what’s going on without help from other sources (such as a description box). And you have to admit that the flow on this one is very hard to make out, due to the fact that the artist didn’t plan to make a comic in the first place.

They’ve obviously got talent, I’m not denying that. But when it comes to comics, as a comic artist myself, I’m very critical. I’m apparently not the ONLY one who thought so, but I was perhaps the most vocal.

So whatever. I spoke my mind, got flamed for it, people hate me, whatever. It’s the usual cycle. I can’t say I’m not use to it. It’s not like I’m saying my work is any better. I was just voicing my opinion, which is sadly not what anyone wanted to hear apparently. I guess I should have just confined myself to saying “yes, excellent work, I loved it 100%!” and then shut up and left.

MarshamllowkingII, i'm sorry if I offended you. But with your talent, you can do SO much better.

CattyN I understand you wrote your comment on the heat of it all, but you could have been more easy with your words for starters. A good critique doesn't include words like "retarded", "stupid", or "makes me want to smack em over the head". Saying things like that kinda make people want to attack you back because it appears you are being rude.

What really got me upset over your first comment is the bashing of a cultural symbol of a nekomimi. Sure you can change it, but for the mostpart, if you want a nekomimi, it will act and talk like one.

But in all none hurt, none lost, all gained. All move forward.

lol its actually quite the opposite my friend i wasn't offended at all actually i knew you meant well :P i never liked compliments myself been that way since childhood , i actually enjoyed the crit to tell the true XD

(it oddly put me in a good mood yesterday but i guess i wanted to be serious in the response but seemed it came out a little misunderstood XD after all its been a really long time since any one ever gave me any critting so i forgot how to respond to them >.>
so don't be too hard on yourself for it , im not one of those sensitive artist types that cant take a punch or five now and then .

for me compliments can only butter up the errors till the siad artist finds out how horrible he/she was till a year or so later XD

so as i said earlier thanks for the attempt in critique :3
once i get back in an actual drawing mood i might fix up the layouts of that sketch :P

oh and before i forget it takes allot to get me mad and im not easily offended by most things some of the time i guess ;3
