Legend of Zelda movie?!

Yesterday (April 1st) a video was put up on IGN heres the link (heh link):

what are your impressions of it? is it real or is it an april fools prank (and a very evil one too)

I think it's only or prank. Unless they are producing the movie themselves. If you look at the small page of credits at the end, it jhas the IGN logo and multiple references to them on it.

Now, hopefully some real producer sees it and thinks it's a good idea...

I laughed when I read that post. I sent my cousin that link (get it? Link? *snicker*), who is a huge Zelda fan, then had fun telling my cousin that it was real.

I mean just LOOK how AWESOME they did on the graphics for that! I think/pray that the joke is that they really ARE doing the movie, but they planed it to look like an April Fool's joke, and that the real joke is we were all fooled into thinking it was a joke!

While there was clearly a reasonable amount of effort put into that for the purposes of April Foolin', the laughable production values meant that if it WAS a real film, the premi?re would be on Sci-Fi.

It was no flying penguins though, the BBC's flying penguins rocked.

Yeah... one look at Gannon was the tip off, although I have to admit, I liked the beginning "Don't Touch anything!" stuff that lead into the action segueway...

Hey, there was a Mario movie, why not this? Wouldn't surprise me really, if only Zelda was actually more wildy popular today. It really isn't. We all know game companies will ruin any franchise to make a buck, like it's happened with every video game movie ever made.

The second I saw Terry Jones, though, it ruined the joke for me. Being on Monty Python tends to be a giveaway of something being off.
