Chapter 7: Growth gone wrong

Now at a decent 5'7" height, Hana thought that her day would go pretty smoothly as long as she didn't drink or eat anything warm for the rest of the day. She was content with her height for now, and although she got yelled at by her parents for growing some more, they couldn't blame her for wanting to be taller still. Still, they warned her not to grow anymore.

"I really don't feel like changing around the structure of the house for the next week to suit your Amazon-sized body!" her mother especially noted. Hana promised not to grow any more as she got her school books and headed out the door.

Unfortunately for Hana, one thing the inn manager didn't mention days ago was that heat would make her grow in size as well! And while the day started off normal enough at around 70 or so degrees outside, by lunchtime it got bad. How bad?

It all started when Hana ate on the room with her friends. At first everything was fine; Chisa and Ryo remembered not to give their friend warm foods, and Hana herself was eating some cold foods to cool herself off from the increasingly warmer heat. Smart idea, since it was now 90 degrees out!

"I don't feel so good", Hana whined as she used one of her school books to fan her face. Sweat rolled down the girl's face as she started to pant from the heat, her clothes soaked in sweat.

"Hana-chan, you don't look so good!" Chisa noted as she lifted her friend up on her feet. "We should be back insiiiiiaiaiai!!"

"Hmm?" Hana wondered, the sweat running down her face making it hard to see her friends. Ryo stood up in response as well to Hana's growth as a result of the heat.

"What's wrong, you guys?" Hana asked once more, her eyes still shut.

"Hana-chan...you're...you're...big!"

"Yeah, I know! I made myself taller this morning!"

"No! Not like that! I mean you're like 9 feet tall!"

"What?!"

Hana finally opened her eyes as she saw her friends a few feet below her. Chisa and Ryo stood perfectly still at the sight of their friend.

"ACK! What's going on?! I didn't eat anything warm recently!!"

"Hana-chan, we got to get you inside!" Chisa said to her growing friend, now pushing the 9'6" mark as she tried to get back inside. The door was too short for her to reach, so she had to crawl back indoors. By the time she got back inside along with her friends, she was over 10 feet tall! She was now barefoot, her shoes long since falling off from her growing size.

Getting down the stairs was a pain, too. Since the steps were now designed for people that tall, Hana had to jump down whole steps just to make it down without tripping, which she had to repeat several times more until they got back down to the first floor. When they got down to the first floor, Hana had to once more crawl into the door on her knees, now almost 10'4".

Hana soon found out that she coudn't even stand up straight in the hallways, her head hitting the ceiling. Not only that, but since the hallway was filled with so many students, the heat around the school was just as strong as the heat from outside. Hana continued to grow still, now almost 12 feet tall as she and her friends headed to the school nurse. When they finally got there the mini-giantess was nearly 13 feet tall, quickly entering the office and closing the door. Thankfully the room had air conditioning, temporarily putting a stop to Hana's growing stature.

The school nurse was a young woman, no more than 27 or so. She had long, black hair, green eyes, and a short, skinny body. Her uniform consisted of a plain white shirt and white khaki pants, and she wore on her feet a plain pair of black high heels.

"H-H-Hello. I-I'm the school n-n-nurse...Hinako Sominawa..." the woman slowly told Hana, whose gigantic size caused her to nearly hyperventilate.

"Sominawa-san, I need help!!" Hana whined to the stressed woman. "I keep growing and I can't stop! Do you have anything cold that can help me?!"

"'Cold'? What do you mean?"

"Like cold water or a really big bowl of ice cream?! Drinking cold liquids or taking a cold bath makes me shrink, and warm things make me bigger!"

"I've never heard of anything like this before in my life", Hinako said to herself as she flipped through one of her nursing manuals. "Shouldn't I be calling a hospital or something?"

"No! I just need something cold!" Hana explained once again, the school nurse nodding her head.

"You might want to try the gym showers. You could shrink there."

"That's right!" Hana chirped happily, hugging the school nurse in a tight embrace. "I forgot about those! Thank you, sensei!"

"You're w-welcome...but p-please stop hugging me...!"


One shower trip later

With some help from Chisa, Hana managed to squeeze her way into the showers, looking at the scared/terrified faces of the other cheerleaders around her as she squeezed her way into the locker room showers. Since she was over 15 feet tall at this point, she took up nearly the entire area around her. It wouldn't be too bad if the slippery floors didn't cause her near-naked body to skid around like she was in an ice rink. Hana had to press her legs on a wall in front of her just to stop slipping.

"Okay, Hana-chan, I'm going to unleash some preeeety cold water. Please don't be scared by it", Chisa informed her friend as she started to turn on several shower heads, which squirted water on various parts of her body.

"I won't, Chisa. I promis-AAAHHH!! That's cold!!"

As unhappy as she was, though, Hana had to grin and bear it. Her body slowly shrunk in size as every part of her body got wet from the cold, cold water trickling down it. Soon enough she was small again..though maybe too small.

"Oops!" Chisa gasped as she picked up her pint sized friend, who was barely 5 inches tall.

"What did you do to me?!" Hana yelled in a high-pitched squeal, surprised by her voice. "Look at me! I'm not short anymore; I'm microscopic!"

"I'm so sorry, Hana-chan!" Chisa apologized as she lowered in friend in front of her friend. "I didn't think a cold shower would make you this tiny!"

"Well hurry up and make me big again!"

"But how?"

"Don't you worry about that. I know a place that's always warm, even in the winter!"

"Really? Where would that be, Hana-chan...?"

"Oh, you'll see.."

Chapter 8: Heat wave or blizzard?

The doll-sized Hana explained to her friend a place where she could not only grow back to her original 4?3? stature, but well beyond that. She was referring, of course, to her bedroom, which was always room due to her not opening up any windows and dressing up warmly even in summer.

?I have a hard time sleeping if I?m cold?, Hana explained to her friend, standing on her right shoulder.

?I don?t think it?s weird, Hana-chan?, Chisa replied. ?I don?t like being cold when sleeping, either.?

?I don?t think you understand just how much I bundle up..?

?A warm blanket or two, right??

?I wear waaaaay more blankets than that, actually. Sometimes I place 3 or 4 blankets on top of each other, as well as place a heating fan next to my bed.?

?That?s overdoing it, isn?t it??

?Maybe, but I really don?t like being cold. That?s part of the reason I wasn?t so happy by the news of eating cold foods and drinking cold beverages for the next week.?

Chisa paused for a moment as she stared blankly at her friend, smiling at her pocket-sized companion.

?What are you looking at?!? Hana asked, looking quite annoyed.

?Eek! You sound so cute when you?re angry!? Chisa said, giggling at her friend?s high-pitched yells. The tiny girl, however, simply sighed.


Back at Hana?s home

Chisa hid Hana in her school bag as they left school early that day. Fortunately they had permission to do so by the principal himself, who was quite dumbfounded by Chisa?s explanation. She told him that Hana had come down with a weird cough that made her sick, as well as made her voice high and squeaky. He was skeptical at first as Hana wasn?t there beside Chisa when she tried to get out of class, but she managed to pull it off when she explained that Hana didn?t feel well and was currently resting in the school nurse?s office. When he asked again why Hana?s parents wouldn?t just pick up their daughter, she explained that they personally told her to take their daughter home. Although Chisa wasn?t fond of lying to get the two of them out of school, she knew as well as Hana?s parents that bad things would happen if they stayed in the school. Even if Hana could grow back to her original size at school, her uniform was ripped to shreds as the result of her earlier growth. She might as well go home and get clothed again.

It took Chisa about 20 minutes to get Hana back to her house, hiding her in her school bag most of the time. It became harder and harder to do so, though, as Hana slowly kept growing in the sweaty bag, constantly sucking on ice cubes and eating bits of ice cream her friend bought to cool her body down. Despite this, though, Hana grew nearly thrice her current size before arriving to home; Chisa was forced to wrap her up like a baby in her arms with her tattered school uniform when she got too big for the school bag.

The two then rushed upstairs to Hana?s bedroom, wrapping the tiny girl up in her layers of blankets. She happily sighed as she sat in her comfortable bed with her comfortable pillows and blankets, which felt even more comfortable at her tiny stature. She wasn?t small for long, though, as Hana grew to nearly 7 feet tall in a manner of minutes! The once large blankets looked like baby blankets to her now, and her bed started to creak from her weight. Hana was forced to retreat from her blanket wrappings and proceed outside via her window, standing at nearly 8 feet tall outside her house. However, she was still naked, so Chisa grabbed for her friend the biggest shirt she could find (which barely covered her chest), as well as the biggest shorts she could find (which barely covered her butt cheeks).

?We?re back to where we started!? angrily sighed Hana, annoyed by her large size once more. ?What was the point??

?Well, it was either that, or the whole school would have seen you in your birthday suit?, Chisa pointed out.

?Oh yeah?, said Hana, nodding in agreement. ?Good thing we got out when we did, then.?

?Hana-chan, I?m going to have to squirt you with the hose..?

?Oh no!? yelled Hana, knowing what was coming up next.

?Water fight!!!? a teasing Chisa yelled as she squirted her friend with cold water, shrinking her down to a little more than 4 and a half feet tall.

?Chisa, that was really, really cold!? whined Hana, shivering a little despite the warm weather. ?And I mean that in more ways than one!?

?But at least you?re small again!? a relieved Chisa said to her friend, hugging her. ?I like the small Hana-chan much better than the giantess sized one!?

?I?m sorry, Chisa?, apologized Hana, feeling like a jerk for yelling at her friend so much over the last couple of hours.

?Don?t worry about that, it! I?m your best friend! Of course I?ll help you out in situations like these; that?s what friends are for!?

?Yeah. As long as you can squirt me with water, I?ll be just fine!?

A few hours later, now night time in Hana's room..

Everything was finally looking up for Hana and her growing/shrinking problems until she turned on the news that night;

?There is currently a drought in the county area. Please don?t water any plants with water hoses until the next time it rains. If you must water your gardens or lawns, reserve as much as you can and only do so at night.?

?Damn it!? yelled Chisa at the television, shaking it violently with her hands. ?I KNEW this would happen!?

?Well, there?s still the bath tub?, reminded Hana, who was looking forward to the opportunity of a nice, warm bath once this week was over. ?Still, this is going to be an annoying series of days, isn?t it??

?Indded. At least there's not going to be a blizzard any time soon."

Just then, the news switched over to the weatherman, who then explained;

?Expect extreme weather changes over the next couple of days due to some cold winds rising up from the north.?

?Ugh?, groaned both Hana and Chisa at the same time. This was going to be an annoying week after all, it seemed.

Ending of that chapter forced full FAIL upon them for an all around WIN for us ^_^ Can't wait for the next one.

I plan to have chapter 9 up within the next couple of days, though it may take a while to get on here. The power will be cut off where I live tomorrow, and the computers that I will have access to won't let me even access this site, much less post on it.

Funny enough, they don't block Giantess City for some reason..

Sorry for the looooong wait. Here's chapter 9!

Chapter 9: Some girls like it hot

The place that Hana was talking about was the library. For some reason the school's library always seemed hot and steamy even in the winter. One reason for this supposed heat is because the librarians who run the place think better in a warm climate.

But where to hide while growing back to normal (or somewhat close to it)? Hana decided to guide Chisa to the section on autobiographies. It was an empty a section as you could get, considering that it was after school and no one hung around the library except when cramming for exams.

"I can feel myself growing!" Hana told her "giant" friend, slowly growing in size. "Quick! Hand me your warm soda I asked you to save from lunch!"

"But it's really gross", Chisa reminded her friend, sticking her toungue out in disgust as her friend drank it up. Soon enough she was growing some more, now almost 2 feet tall.

"I'm growing back to normal!" a happy Hana chirped, now almost 2'3". Chisa handed back her friend's clothes, which progressively started to fit her friend's small body.

"I have some hot sauce in my bag, too!" said Chisa as she pulled it out. Hana soon enough drank that down as well. Now her height was roughly 4'2".

"Hmm...I could still be bigger", Hana sighed, drinking a little more of the warm soda. Her height then ballooned to almost 5 feet.

"Okay, Hana-chan, that's enough! Let's get out of here!"

"Agreed!"

Hana and Chisa ran out the library and down the hall. By this point Hana was 5'2", her clothes fitting her somewhat comfortably now. She had to buy a new pair of clothes after her last growth spurt, and these were a little too big for her.

"Just need to adjust a little more", the growing girl told Chisa as she drank a little more hot sauce, growing to 5'7". "There we go!"

"Don't get carried away, Hana-chan", Chisa warned her friend. "I don't want to read the papers tomorrow and find out a 50 foot tall naked girl is living in our city."

"Don't worry, Chisa. I've got everything under control now", Hana assured her friend. "However, I can't go outside just yet..it's too warm still.."

"Then we'll just have to stay in the school until night time", Chisa said, contemplating how to do such a thing.

"I think I know how!" Hana chimed. "Quick! Let's get to the principal's office!"


One trip later


"'Shoe bandits'? That's the best story you could come up with, Hana-chan?" Chisa snickered.

"Oh like your idea was so much better. 'Animals come in at night and steal pencils'. I can't go outside now. It will be too warm, and I'll just bigger."

"Hey girls", went a familiar voice behind Hana and Chisa.

"Ryo-kun!!" Hana smiled. "What are you doing here?"

"I was asked by your mother to take care of you tonight while you look for some crooks who have apparently been 'stealing shoes' around the school", he snickered. "Seriously, Hana? THAT'S the best you can come up with?"

"Stop making fun of me!" Hana whined. "You know I grow in the heat!"

"Okay, okay. I'm sorry, Hana. So where are we doing our 'patrol'?"

"I was hoping we can do it in the coolest classroom in the school", Hana suggested. "Room 1-A."

"Oh yeah. That was the class we were in in 10th grade, wasn't it, Chisa?" Hana asked, smiling.

"Yep", she replied, hugging her friend. "My how things have changed since then! You're soooooo tall, yet still as adorable as a button. My 'growing flower' best friend!"

"Ch-Chisa!!" an exasperated Hana said.


A couple of hours later

Since Hana, Chisa, and Ryo were staying after school, they decided to make the best of it and clean up their individual classrooms in place of the other students, as well as Room 1-A's. This took them quite a while to do together, but eventually the job got done..and Hana hadn't changed so much as an inch in size during this time.

"Chisa, what time is it?" Hana asked as she put away the last of the chairs.

"About 5:20 P.M.", she replied, staring at the clock above them. "Guess it's still not late enough yet to leave."

It was at this time that all three friends' stomaches rumbled almost instantaneously.

"Growing and shrinking makes me hungry", Hana noted. "I can't wait for the sunset to turn into night."

"Well, we still have another hour or so left before that happens", Ryo said as he dusted the teacher's desk. "I could go get us something to eat."

"Cool! Why don't we eat early dinner, then?" Chisa asked as she pulled out her wallet. "I'll pay for you, Hana-chan!"

"Thank you!" Hana replied as she hugged her friend in a fairly tight grip. "You're the best friends a growing/shrinking girl could have!"

"Then I'll get us some fast food, if that's okay with you two girls.."

"Yep!" Hana and Chisa nodded at the same time. "Good luck, Ryo-kun!"

The story is definitely entertaining however I have one big issue with it, and that was when you initially described it as a slow growth story. Jumping from 4 foot whatever to 5'11 is hardly slow growth in my opinion. Once the character reaches abnormal heights, the novelty of slow growth at that point is diminished to some people (the dudes who dont like it when the girls become huge giants but enjoy more realistic settings.... kind of like how a lot of people cross the line when a girl gets too muscular and veiny; gross. Therefore what im trying to say is one way to improve the story is to focus more on the 4-6 foot range next time, and then of course grow the character to your hearts desire, and all will be pleased. Your work is much appreciated.
