A Growing Flower (new slow growth story)

This is a story idea I've had for a while; a girl who wishes to be big ends up becoming so. Unlike my other stories, there will be no uneven growth here; just slow growth.

Prologue

18 year old Hana Daiyuki (her last name meaning "big courage") was a very short girl. How short? Back in kindergarten, the black-haired, blue-eyed teenager was always 6 inches shorter than the rest of the girls in her class. When she first entered grade school, she was mistaken for a toddler. Even when she got a growth spurt at age 10, her height was a measly 3'8". At the end of 8th grade, she barely measured up to 4'1", often mistaken for girls half her age. At age 17, the poor girl barely reached 4'3".

It also lead to other problems besides an inferiority complex about her height. Although Hana loved sports, she was turned down by nearly all the sport teams in school due to her size and weak, light body. The only major exception was the swim team, and even then she eventually quit after being teased by her peers for her stature.

Fortunately, Hana had friends that did treat her like an equal and didn't make fun of her size. One such friend was Ryo, her next door neighbor who knew and protected Hana since he moved next door 5 years ago. Unlike Hana, he was tall at 5'10". His short, combed brown hair, sparkling green eyes, and fairly toned body made him popular with girls at his school, but he didn't care much for dating them. He was busy working hard to become a musician like his father. He received his first synthesizer at age 10 and has been enthralled with music since.

Hana's other friend was Chisa, a spunky girl of 5'2" who liked her petite friend like a little sister. She typically wore glasses over her big, brown eyes and kept her long, brown hair in two braids most of the time, not caring much for her appearance otherwise. She met Hana back when they were 10 when she got lost one summer night while taking a walk around the park with her parents. The helpful Chisa walked the small girl home and has been close to her since.

Hana's parents were also not on the tall side of their family tree. Her father was a short, skinny man of 5'3", looking like he could almost pass for a high school student despite being 38. He had dirty blonde hair and green eyes, and worked his days dropping off mail to the local towns nearby. Her mother was even shorter at 4'11", also looking quite youthful despite her age. She had long, beautiful black hair, crystal-like blue eyes, and a small but slender body that attracted many a man in the past to her despite her height. While she was a housewife, she also on the side wrote movie reviews for the town's local newspaper. As such, Hana got to go with her mother to see many films before they even saw general release, which she always loved to do.

As explained before, Hana was typically very short..until she came back from a trip the weekend before she entered her final year of high school. The trip, which was to a local hot springs resort her parents came to annually, featured a new area that year that was, to quote the sign, "So refreshing, it will make your body feel anew." Hana was confused by the sign, but decided to go in anyway since it looked very nice. The springs were set outside, and around the area were tall, beautiful rock sculptures of various animals and other wildlife both from and outside of Japan. The water felt just right as well, and Hana happily sat in the spring for what seemed like a day to her (it was actually about three hours).

On their last day, Hana felt a little odd as her family drove home that night. She felt like her pink t-shirt felt a little tighter around her body, as did her jeans. She paid no mind, though, thinking that the hot water on her body might be the reason why her body felt odd. Not much happened after her initial car ride worry until her first day of school that April, where she woke up to the last problem she ever expected to encounter in her life.

Here's the first chapter of A Growing Flower. The first growth spurt is a little big, but the next bunch will be of smaller increments. Enjoy!

Chapter 1: Late Puberty?

Hana was shocked when she woke up that morning and saw herself in her full body mirror in her room. She thought her pink, kids size pajamas felt much tighter than usual, but she couldn't understand why until she walked up to the mirror. But that's when she found out why she felt so odd:

She was almost 6 feet tall now!

Hana couldn't believe it! The once petite girl was now a tall, leggy beauty of 5'11". Her hair was much longer, reaching down to her butt, her butt was rounder and more firm, and her breasts, although not the biggest out there, were not at least visible now that she was a C cup.

"What the hell!?" was her first reaction when she noticed herself in the mirror. She tried pinching herself multiple times to re-assure herself it wasn't a dream, but it seemed like it was true; she grew over a foot and a half in height in one night.

Hana had seen many kinds of these shows when growing up, both in cartoons and live-action. She was familiar with seeing small, sometimes weak characters growing in size, only to further regret their new height as they returned to normal soon after. Hana didn't think like that; she found no reason to want to go back to being a puny girl who looked at most 8 to her high school peers and teachers.

"The only downside to this is that none of my clothes fit me anymore", the girl sighed as she desperately tried putting on her school uniform.

It was no use; she was too big for it. The uniform itself, which consisted of a black shirt and dark blue skirt, had to be ordered at a special size just for her once tiny body. Of course, Hana doubted she could even fit properly in the normal sized uniform now, much less the one she had before. But she tried anyway to put it in, and it looked awkward. Her bellybutton was completely exposed, and her skirt barely covered up her butt cheeks. And for the school-approved black shoes she wore...forget it.

"How am I supposed to go to school like this!?" Hana wondered as she came out of her room barefoot, knocking on the door of her parents' bedroom. Maybe they could help her out.

"Mom! Dad! Please open the door!"

"Hana, what's wrong?" her groggy mother was first to reply.

"Um..Mom. I think I hit my growth spurt", Hana shyly told her mother.

"Your what?"

"My growth spurt!"

"Really!? How tall are you now, dear? Did you grow another inch!?" her enhusiatic mother wondered as both she and her husband got out of bed to congratulate their daughter on her recent growth.

"Um...it's a little bigger than that", Hana sheepishly explained once again as her parents opened the door.

The expressions on their faces were priceless. If it weren't for their daughter's voice, they would have assumed right then and there that it was another girl who broke into their house that morning.

"Hana!! You're...big!" Hana's father exclaimed, almost about to fall over from the shock of her daughter's height.

"My baby girl is finally grown up!" her less scared mother then yelled in joy, hugging her taller daughter.

Of course, after she did, she noticed her daughter's awkwardness in her high school uniform. She also noticed her newly enhanced figure.

"Wow! Beautiful AND tall! We're proud of you, honey! But you need to do something about your uniform", contemplated Hana's mother, wondering how her daughter could still attend school.

Fortunately, she had just the thing: several different sized high school uniforms! She ran to her closet and quickly got out the biggest pair she owned; a large.

"We never knew if you were ever going to hit a growth spurt, so we bought you several uniforms at once in case you did", she explained to Hana, who hugged her mother and then took her clothes and ran to her bedroom to change.

"Our little Hana...she's so tall now", Hana's father sniffed, a tear rolling down his eye.

"I know! She's become a lovely woman!" Hana's mother chimed in, hugging her husband.


At School


As weird as it was for Hana's parents to believe her gigantic spurt in size, Hana wondered that her friends would have an even harder time believing it when they lined up outside of school to look at the bulletin board. A new year met new room changes, and Hana hoped she would be in the same classes as her friends Ryo and Chisa.
To her surprise, she was! Hana jumped for joy at the news as she ran over to her friends to explain to them they'd be in the same homeroom again that year.

The first she told the news to was Chisa, who seemed to go through a little spurt of her own over break; she now stood 5'3". Nothing much, but her body was also a little more developed as well, and she went half a cup size as well over the break between grades.

"Chisa! Chisa! We're in the same class!" a happy Hana chirped as she hugged her friend, who was confused by the girl who was hugging her.

"Who on Earth are you!?" Chisa fumed when she finally got out of her grasp.

"I'm Hana! Hana Daiyuki!" she happily explained to her friend. "I grew during my spring break!"

"No way you're Hana-chan. Hana-chan is little, sweet, and adorable. You're tall, pretty, and..sweet.."

"Chisa, please believe me!" her friend cried. "I'm really Hana!"

"If you're really Hana-chan, then you won't mind a little quiz, right?"

"Sure!"

"When did we meet?"

"At the park in the middle of the city 10 years ago. I got lost and you helped me home."

"Hm...that's right. Question two! What did I break once when I played baseball?"

"You broke your arm. You had a cast for six weeks and were unable to join me and Ryo-kun on summer vacation."

"Also correct. Hmm...well here's a question only the real Hana-chan knows!

Who was my first best friend?"

"Um...hmm, I know this...give me a minute..."

"You!" Chisa happily exclaimed as she gave her best friend a hug. "Hana-chan, you've become so tall and pretty!"

"I'm not pretty", the embarrassed girl flushed. "I'm just...taller..."

"Wait 'til Ryo-chan sees this", Chisa snickered as she then dashed off to get him, leaving Hana by herself.

It was then that Hana got something she never got before; stares. And not in the "Oh, look at the tiny girl" way, either. For the first time in her life, she was getting stares by boys. Some even walked up to her just to say hello to her. It was so weird getting used to; Hana was so small most of her life, she wasn't used to being treated like an actual teenager.

"Hana-chan!" Chisa exclaimed as she brought over Ryo, who was as confused as Chisa was the first time when he saw the tall beauty in front of him.

"Chisa, you gotta be joking! This isn't Hana!" he remarked, making Hana droop her face in response.

"Ryo...kun...", Hana sniffled before Chisa handed her a tissue.

"See, Ryo-chan? You made her cry! If you don't believe me, just ask her some questions, you unbeliever!"

"Okay, then. Hana, where did you, Chisa, and I go to last year on your 17th birthday party?"

"We went on a boat ride around the Sea of Japan. Later we went on an amusement park, where you took me on some rides and even won me a teddy bear bigger than myself."

"See? It IS her", Chisa remarked as she stared long at Ryo, who slowly approached the almost crying Hana.

"I'm sorry I didn't believe you, Hana. It's just that you're so...so..."

"Freakishly tall?" Hana sadly sighed.

"I never expected you to grow up to be this tall and pretty!" Ryo attempted to say between fairly long pauses. "You were cute before, Hana, but now you're lovely!"

"R-R-Ryo-kun! Thanks!" Hana laughed as she hugged both her friends at once, blushing red in response to Ryo's kind words.

"This is going to take a while to get used to", Chisa noted to Ryo, who nodded in reply.


After School


The actual school day itself was a very hectic one. After got over the initial "Hana grew big!?" shock, she was suddenly very popular. Volleyball teams wanted her, swim teams wanted her, track and field wanted her, and the photography wanted her even! As flattered as she was by these recommendations, Hana decided to instead study in her favorite past time; art.

Even since she was little, Hana loved to draw. It was the one thing she could do that had nothing to do with height. And although the pencils felt a little awkward to her, she would sometimes spend an entire afternoon doing nothing but doodling. She even showed it to her friends Ryo and Chisa as well as her parents, who all thought she had something special regarding her art skills.

However, she didn't attend art as an extra-cirrcular activity due to her tiring of being looked at by her fellow peers. But now that she was as tall as them, she wouldn't have to worry about that anymore, right?

"W-w-wait! A tall, beautiful girl like yourself wants to show the art club??" the president of the club, a bi-speackled junior with short, black hair and auburn-colored eyes named Mayo, wondered. "Don't you want to lead cheers or be on a sports team?"

"Nope. I came to draw. I can even bring my own art supplies if need be", Hana confidently told the president of the club.

"Then welcome aboard....who are you?"

"Hana. Hana Daiyuki."

"Eh!?!? You mean 'Chiisana' Daiyuki?"

"Please don't call me that.."

"I'm so sorry for bringing that up. But wow! You grew up really fast!"

"It's a little embarrassing, actually.."

"Well, either case, welcome aboard!" Mayo told the girl as she shook both her hands at once. She then led the girl inside to meet the art students, who were as shocked as their club president by how much Hana had grown in such a short amount of time.


That Evening


What a long day! Waking up 5'11", joining the art club, and now the object of affection of many a boy in her school, Hana was both happy and worried by her new size. One thing was certain, though; she didn't want to go back to being a tiny girl ever again.

Another surprise came when Hana came home and saw her parents throw her a mini-paty of sorts celebrating her growth spurt. If it wasn't for the cake and presents, she would have told them they were taking this a bit too far. Then again, she did like cake..

After the party finally came sleep. Before that, though, Hana took a bath. However, since it wasn't made for people quite her size, she kept bumping her legs into the wall, and one leg often stuck out of the tub. Growing, apparently, seemed to have its disadvantages.

Another disadvantage came when Hana tried to put on her pajamas. They no longer fit the girl even slightly; she could barely stick her head inside her pajama shirt. She borrowed some of her father's bigger shirts instead, but even that barely helped.

"I guess I'll go shopping tomorrow", Hana told herself as she sat on her bed. But even that was an annoying ordeal; Hana's legs stood out far from her bed, and her blanket only covered up three-fourths of her body. Even her pillow was too small now for her larger head.

At least she could still cuddle up with her stuffed animals (one phase Hana never quite grew out of). It looks like she would need a bigger bed, longer blankets, and new clothes tomorrow. For now, though, Hana drifted off to sleep, hoping she wouldn't get any taller anytime soon.
