New Tekweapons comic on Expansioncomics.com!

Over at Expansioncomics.com, Tekweapons has posted the first six pages of "Distortion", a new comic that appears to be in the vein of JayTee's Dice game.

I'm finding a continuous subscription to that site to be a money sink seeing as how they update so irregularly.

Makes me wonder if he thinks he wrote himself into a corner on the other two... just stuck in endless growth land, probably nearly or far beyond immobility, with no signs of stopping..

Subscribe for a month, download everything, and then disappear for 6-18 months before doing it again.

a la Carte pricing makes more sense for all involved, I think, but very few sites offer that sort of forward-thinking from management. "It's a monthly fee because that's what EVERYBODY does!"

It'd feel a little more reasonable is every comic part wasn't just 6 pages either...But that's how they make money I suppose.

It was actually explained to me at one point that the subscription model is targeted toward the lazy user. They subscribe, forget to unsubscribe, and they're still paying a monthly fee years later when the site has stopped updating.

I agree that a la carte pricing would be a better model, and more profitable. It would also prevent the exact users I just mentioned. But subscriptions lead to a consistent income, while a la carte requires consistent updates to make consistent income.
