Space Adventure Cobra Inflation Clip
I think most people reading this will probably have seen this clip before, it's shown up on several inflation sites. For those who haven't, it's from an 80's anime series called "Space Adventure Cobra." It's a scene of a genie threatening the hero of the series by demonstrating on a random woman that a magic fruit he just swallowed causes the eater to inflate and burst. Even though bursting and forced inflation aren't usually my favorites, it's animated so well that I've loved the clip since I saw it.
However, the clip that's been bouncing around is fairly small and grainy, and has its colors washed out; a lot of the detail is lost. I managed to track down the episode in a higher quality format and extracted the same clip. I think it's definitely worth watching again like this. Thanks to Critical Volume for helping me get this uploaded. |

The quality on this vid is much better than the previous ones well done. I was wondering is there anymore inflation secenes in that episode or series for that matter?

One thing I've found out is that this episode is directly based off of the fourth story in the manga. I'm not absolutely certain that the manga has the inflation too, as it's a fairly brief part of the episode, maybe a couple of minutes total, but from what I understand the episodes based on the manga are fairly direct. Unfortunately, the US release of the manga has been out of print for some time.

First off,
Rathani. Awesome re-capture of the scene. The quality is so much better and you can see the color difference even on the inflated girl's skin. It really adds more. I've always been wanting to read Cobra for the longest as its a really good manga and Cobra's freakin' cool. I just haven't been lucky to find a translated copy. One day hopefully. Sutibaru; Dude, awesome finds! I'm surprised that such scenes exist in the manga but I'm not complaining. Thanks for actually finding these scans. |

Wow thanks for uploading!
The second part where the strange dark-skinned girls inhale air and inflate themselves and float away was awesome! Do you think they made that part of the manga into an episode in the animated series? I would love to see that! Oh, would there by any chance be anyone here who might be able to translate some of the text? |
