Pulse

I used to post here more often, I think I even made "The Process Forum" graphic at the top left years ago, but at least the last few years I've mostly lurked.

I once ran a big site where there were at least a few BE comics. Or maybe as it was said at times a site with comics that occasionally had BE. Either way, it was at least a site with big breast comics.

I've been working on a new comic for over a year. It's a second version of Pulse, as superhero comic, and my original webcomic (from 1999). It's similar, but in places I made pretty significant changes. It's "PG-13" instead of "R", so no visible nipples, etc. There's BE once so far, but I shouldn't promise it'll happen to anyone else, or that the one person will get bigger. I'll see what happens I guess.

I would have mentioned it before, but honestly I was curious if anyone else would post about it.

I attached the newest page, but maybe I should have picked a better example of fan-service.

Re: Pulse

Hi there, fan and long time lurker.

Just out of curiousity, have you thought about returning to other comics you made?
Well, not Missing Materia, since that's now done and dusted. Maybe like another Kim Possible or Teen Titan fan strip, about 3-5 pages? Or what about My Big Life? That seemed to have so much potential.

Re: Pulse

If my memory servers me right, she chose to scrap what was going on at the time and virtually reboot Pulse since her skills had improved greatly as we've seen with the new edition of Pulse. Also she, correct me if I'm wrong, but felt she was spread too thin on all the webcomics she was hosting and plus it was getting a bit costly to host all of what used to be on her site....-goes back to a far off forum fire-

Talk about a blast from the past, didn't you run a site called stone of adventure with that Tifa and Yuffie comic on it? Or did you create that comic. I recognise your name though, welcome back Lightfoot.

Re: Pulse

Let's see:

I'm a guy.

I ran the Stone of Adventure between 2000 and 2010. I made the Pulse, Final Fantasy and My Big Life comics. I made PeEVEed, and the Adept with (co-writer) Wolfman1066.

We had a number of hosts, but they were free for us. "Snoopy" was our host for most of that time.

I was a chronic comic-starter, some of the series I either had lost interest in, or just maybe didn't like them enough to follow through with my sometimes very lengthy plans. I was starting to wonder if I'd ever finish all of them. Some were so old that they almost just needed to start over, due to at least inexperience they were sloppy stories.

It was a big site that required a lot of time to fix things, and everything was set up to be as reliable as possible, not always easy to add new content.

We had used Snoopy's space for years, and when there was a big server problem in 2009 I regretted that he was having to spend a lot of energy on it for us. He used the webspace himself also, but I felt like we were complicating it for him.

Intentionally and accidently the comics were getting more and more adult. And also I was doing all of these long comics that had BE, and the women were getting more and more unreasonable, sometimes far beyond my original plans. I felt like I had to always say no or pour cold water on reader's expectations or ideas, because I had to consider what was plausible when there was years of comics ahead, and/or what was too adult. I felt like I needed to reset.

I've always been more of a means-to-an-ends kind of BE guy. More like using BE to get to a result, than something continuous where it keeps going and going for it's own sake until they can't move or more. A lot of times I had a goal in mind but make the BE too available, or made the comics too long. In long comics BE and a story can conflict if the character needs to be active (like Pulse being a superhero). It ads a lot of complications, and pacing issues not in other kinds of comics.

I had this site for ten years, mostly with comics of a BE theme, and I wanted to do something different. I felt like there was a lot of things that I had wanted to do. I wanted to have a comic on a free comic host (once the only option for most people), I wanted to have one comic (something that wasn't true for me since 1999), and I wanted to have a simple site. I had experimented with those things with the Adept, but at the time felt like I needed to stay focused to the big (and higher traffic) SOA site if it existed.

I'm not sure if I'd do more fan-comics. There are a lot of people who like them, but you also get a lot of grief from fans who think you are perverting the series they like.

About the other old comics, it's not impossible, but I really can't guess one way or another. I kept my plans for My Big Life, although I felt like most would rather have her growing than big, which was sort of the opposite of what I expected. PeEVEed I would only do if Wolf agreed, and I would suggest starting over (at least to make it seem more like Japan).

Re: Pulse

I always enjoyed your comics, Lightfoot.

Though I can't really say I ever quite understood Pulse. I liked PeEVEed the most, myself.

Re: Pulse

Been following the rebooted Pulse since it started, and I'm happy to see it's getting coverage.

And for the record, I wouldn't say no to a return to PeEVEed.

Re: Pulse

Welcome Back, LightFoot.

And if you still fear some raging fans of BE, just do one thing : open commissions. They'll rage with their munnies, which will be good for your wallet. :3

Re: Pulse

I would love to see more BE intersperced into your main stories. They could be quick, happen to side-characters, or be reversed, I don't care. Just a little something here or there.
