Exactly.

CGI can be cheap to produce (compared to live) and you literally have no limits. But it takes creative minds that A. know what they want B. have the clout to get it, to keep it from looking like crap. Unless this is getting directed by someone who has real directing ability, expect just something pooped out by a studio to make money off the Twilight market.

I miss the puppet days. "An american werewolf in London" still puts to shame all new movies. They don't even have the excuse anymore to say "the technology isn't here yet". They have the ability to do a fantastic cg transform, but they just don't care enough to even try.

Shit that new webseries "My Life As a Werewolf" comes as close to "An American Werewolf in London" as it gets in the current film days. And the budget for that was no where near where other films are. I think it used the same methods as what they used for An American Werewolf and it came out outstanding. Albeit the protagonist is a male, so not too much a win for the process people as always with the actual well thought processes.

It's gotten some comment from surprised viewers on twitter. On the other hand, the rutting werewolves are seen only in silhouette--yet another disappointment.
