But the music really set a tone there that suggests to me that this new character is not going to be around very long.

I think it'll be more along the lines of the twins purebreed father finds out Nora had a hand in his son's death, kills her, Josh some how inadvertently ends up infected again and teaches Erin (new werewolf) how to cope with her curse. That or maybe the twin's father turns out to be the one that scratched Erin, so Josh and Nora kill him to cure her.
