I make a cel-shaded image and an equivalent, but about 3% larger that is completely black. The black is behind the cel-shade, granting outlines. Then, when its scaling time, the cel-shade increases at X% rate whereas the black one will increase at a slightly slower rate, in such a proportion as to keep the outline thickness constant. Yay!
