Yeah, that was sure cute, though I'm a little sorry they didn't do more with it. Changing gender doesn't actually influence the plot in any particular way. The "curse" could have been simply the music in their heads... becoming women is largely incidental. They don't examine their conditions or reflect on the opportunity for perspective or find any particular weakness or advantage... kind of a missed opportunity. But like I say, beggars can't be choosers. It's a great find anyway.
