Victorian era London, and Genevieve and Lindras.

Why? Doctor Who thing, about another green, though more lizard like woman who helps those in need with her partner, lover, wife, maid.

Maid because, well, Victorian times, people not to keen on the whole love is love thing.

There is just not enough Steampunk/Victorian process material. We need more.

Maybe set it in the Meiji restoration era.

And don't get put off by the fact that Tom Cruise is the lead, because it really isn't about his character being the titular samurai. He's more of the audience surrogate.
