You don't have to "get" RPGMaker to play the games, only if you want to create them. All you need is to download the game and you may need to download the proper RTP (RunTimePlayer) for the specific version of RPGMaker (RPGM XP, RPGM VX, RPGM VX ACE, etc.) that it was made with. Some games come with the RTP already installed in the download. Most game creators (myself included) don't put it in as it significantly increases the size of the download, while downloading the RTP is only needed to be done once and then you have it and you don't have to install it again.
