Weird. The episode was a few days ago on Comedy Central.
At least twice, I think.

Little known fact: Killer butterflies are known to hypnotize their human prey with their beauty, and then call their friends to devour the corpse before any other human discovers the event. They are responsible for 15,000 missing people a year in the US alone. OHNOES indeed!

To which, I do believe the federal government will move against that one too... Not going to take that risk ever since Megaupload's crack down by the FBI.... forget about getting myself pinged by them...

Re: Futurama The Butterjunk Effect

and just because the ruling over at New Zealand's judicial court overrules the US's law.. does not mean anything to the federal government reach on other websites which also includes torrents. Good luck and be safe!

They may want to, but technically-wise it's an entirely different matter. Host websites such as Megaupload had a bunch of servers, you shut them down and it's game over for everyone. Easy.
Torrents are server-less, they're based on every single person who leeches/seeds the files they want. Once the torrent starts, you can't just "shut it down".
They may attack the search engines, and it's already happened before. But, as you could guess, new ones will just pop up...

Not unless Congress gives the DHS and other departments affiliated to authorize them to shut them down without having that pesky 'Constitution' to be in the way....
