cool feedback... Lets see.

yeah when I go over them finaly I'll CG it and add text boxes.

I kind of figured that people would have a hard time reading it. which is ok, if I hurt your eyes. Cuz I hurt my had writing it. They are sketches after all.

I use Paint Shop Pro 5. No need to read most of the text now, when I CG it it'll make it worth the read again.

I was planning on making 3D backgrounds... Really cheep ones using Half-Life 1 Worldcraft map editor. Since I have no 3D modeling programs. (good ones). The're not horrible.

Thumbs up Pretty good Skiff...

I like it, although the text is kinda hard to read in some places... I know this is only sketches though. Anyways, when are you coming on with the next set? Can't wait to see what happens!

If you do redo them on the computer, i reccomend avoiding combinations of 3d and hand drawn art. They tend to clash severely.

In any case, if you insist, could you then post unGCed versions as well?

UnCGed how? Without 3d backgrounds? well the way I color them in computer I can modify pritty much anything easy in the drawings. Because I never alter the Black & White Sketchwork.

I can do variations if neccessary. I can also give the Hi-rez versons to lorekeep for use on the site... If he's interested.

o_O wow
Interesting storyline, I like that it is fairly unique.
Excellent artwork all-round; not a style I prefer, but you wield it well.
Your 3D work is incredible! Those scenes alone must've taken a long time to finish- and they look better than some professional work I've seen.
Oh yeah, and the file size limit is 10MB.
Thanks for posting! ^_^

What I meant by flow was that at certain times in the comic you can't immediately tell wether you want us to read left to right or top to bottom. In page two, for instance, the last for panels are arranged in a square, which to my eye doesn't clearly state whether I should be reading left to right or top to bottom. Panel size, shape, and position has a lot to do with this- If you had aligned the right panel below the left one, that would have been a clue to read left to right, as your eyes would follow that zig-zag from left-right-left-right. However, if you had tilted the bottom line of the left panel down at an angle slightly, then your eyes would naturally follow that edge to the panel beneath it.

Try and use the gutters, the borders, and the panel layouts to create sublte arrows and sight lines that will easialy move the reader's eye from place to place.

A good way to test this is to take your comics page, remove all the graphics, and see where your eyes go with just the panel divisions in there. If you find your eyes tracking the page the way you want it to without even being any dialogue or pictures, then your layout is set.

Oh, and one last thing: PLEASE use a computer font for your dialogue. It's really hard to read as it stands.

Yes, i meant without the 3d background.

I find that a really involved background tends to severely detract from the art, particularly if it's a drawing.

Also, if you are dead set on 3d stuff, take an airbrush tool (you are using photoshop i presume?) and spray in some shadows. Even really simple shadowing will work to tie the two images together very well. AS it is, it looks like, well, you pasted a drawing over a 3d background. Two distinct images.

I like redheads...

Hello. Your drawwing is very good with good bodies. The faces look the same though and it's sometimes hard to distinguidh who is who. Besides this it is Good. Keep up the good work. Till now it has BE, and TF. Have you concidered adding some growth? That would make it fantastic.

Good stuff!

Not bad at all! I look forward to when I can see this stuff inked. Do you have a site with more of this stuff? I'd definitely like to see more!

Hay, an update. Yah, I got distracted for a while. I’m averaging about a page every 3 – 3 ½ hours (depending on how much is going on), and I only get peace and quiet to work on this at night. Based on feedback I changed the panels on page 2 around a bit for clarity and am going to keep it in mind for future pages. Maybe if I’m feeling like crap after work I’ll go back and place computer text on the pages and save it for later when I finally color them.
If you looked at the page and didn’t read my post yet, no I’m not killing Katt off. It looks like she’s in trouble though. Wait for the next page. Hopefully tomorrow, and maybe 2 the next day. We’ll see.
Those 2 CG background images I posted didn’t take me very long. 4 or 5 hours is I think the most time I would have spent on one. The hallway was about 15 min. World Craft is crazy easy. I didn’t start working on the background for this comic yet. I have most of it in mind so it won’t take long. If I can find a way to make the 3D image look like water color I’d use that as a background. (I think it’d look nice?)
Adding Growth?... sure. Some more of the story will have to happen first. Maybe a little bit in a bit. Then bigger later.
Jeez… I think I’m going to have to break this comic into parts. Finish one all in color and then move on to a new part. I intended to make a short story with a few pages. Now I’m up to number 8. I suppose this isn’t a surprise. I do this every time. Short story becomes epic. But that’s cool. Drawing practice.
