Re: Smooth edit
Hunh? What? You say you did these all manually? Uh.. what do you mean by manual in this case? If you had the different parts on different layers, and had a set of key frames, which a computer would then "tween" for you it would make a lot more sense, that this was done in such a short time as 9 hours... uhm... O.O?

Re: Smooth edit
Let me get this straight. You're creating these smooth, detailed animations from static images in which you use photoshop's pen tool to isolate key parts and simulate a background to use in place of the empty space created by your pen use. Then you take these into Aftereffects, then tween the hell out of it until it looks sexy?
I do think you're uunderestimating yourself if you think you're unskilled.

Re: Smooth edit
From the screens, I can't say much about photoshop... you don't seem to make use of groups and haven't configured your workspace to work more fluidly with what you need. Or maybe I just overkill with my game design. (see attachment) I don't know.
Also, you say aftereffects is simple, but it looks like something that would take at least a few months of determined, in-depth use to learn.

Re: Smooth edit
honestly the hardest part to get right is the pre-production work in photoshop. personally I keep the work area in both photoshop and aftereffects as clean as possible. I have it as bare bones as I can get it. From the screen caps regalia showed it can look a little daunting. All you gotta do is start off small get the basics down then work up from there. You could prob learn the program in about a month maybe 2. Will you be as good as regalia prob not but you could come close.

Re: Smooth edit
i seriously can't believe how good these are. this is without a doubt some of the best BE process i've ever seen, and, as you (and likely most of us), i've seen a lot of it :]
on a related note, i can't get the first 2 (the 2 of the same pic of that girl in a bikini) to download properly.... i do the exact same thing on all 4, but the last 2 run all the way through and the first 2 both stop about 2 seconds in and just freeze.... anyone have any pointers? p.s.- obviously the process is the most important part, but the way you made the sleeping girl yawn and sit up-- i nearly came from pure craftsmanship. p.p.s.- te amo

Re: Smooth edit
Bah.. I want to fool around with Photoshop and Aftereffects too.. but they're so freakin expensive... I wonder if I can get a decent student discount.... >.<?
----reads up--- yes a student discount is available but I cannot upgrade a discounted purchase.. that sucks.. Oh well... back to Gimp. I wonder if there is some kind of freeware that can be used like Aftereffects, like Gimp is to Photoshop?... |
