Re: Inuyasha is back
Inuyasha is the most boring anime. I watched s couple episodes when it was on Adult Swim and the story would drag on forever spanning several episodes... but there isnt even any cool battles or whatever.
I think this says it all http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/186208

I remember when I was watching adult-swim some early morning recently and saw them start at the first episode, and so I started watching it, for lack of anything else on, and... it was actually interesting for a bit. There was a little bit of plot development, then some comb-dwelling spirit thing they fought, which was actually pretty horrifying. But yes, it seemed to devolve into a mindless monster of the week format, which is odd, since most animu starts with monster of the week format, then develops into something interesting. I think that the important thing to remember here is that first and foremost, these shows are made for broadcast on television, and as such, can be far more profitable if they're dragged out, stuffed with filler, and force people to watch, NEXT WEEK ON DRAGONBALL Z. Also, by not following the manga, they can cash in by creating a second series, or an OVA that follows the manga where the series does not, a la Hellsing Ultimate. Re: Inuyasha is back
The beginning of Fist of the North Star anime series had a lot of filler episodes which were used in order to help create more budget for the series. If you watched the full thing through like me, you would notice some drastic differences in animation from episode to episode. If the episode was important, they would have a more expensive studio work on it. After that first hill of the series though which was dragged out with fillers (most of which could be skipped altogether), they followed the story with the manga nearly perfectly. It was a long series, but one of the few anime which had story and characters that I cared for.

I use to enjoy it a lot, but it got extremely boring after awhile. The manga has some good points after the anime cut off...but it's like Rumiko Takahashi couldn't even scrap together some decent drama at the end. It's the same thing with One Piece(though I like that, and it's a far better anime, don't get me wrong). It's just not interesting if you know that the good guy will always win and no major character deaths unless you're a flash back....Where's the suspense in that? ):

Re: Inuyasha is back
You know considering how many episodes of Inuyasha there were it would probably be possible to make one of those parody summary videos using clips entirely from the actual show. But in order to do that you'd actually have to watch all those episodes, which means no one with the desire to make a parody video would have a matching desire to spend as much of their life as it would require to watch enough episodes of the show.

Re: Inuyasha is back
I'll do it ^_^
I've seen a lot of the show. At one point I even really liked it... but I've since seen the light. Still, it sounds like fun. hell if done right we wouldn't even need to redub the audio! ^+^

Re: Inuyasha is back
I like the shorter animes. I don't mind an anime that lasts a while but it needs to have a reason for its length. Bleach is another story. Bleach seems to follow the DBZ formula if you ask me. They train, fight this super hard boss guy, feel better, everything back to normal, woops new bigger boss guy, more training, and so on. Plus that stupid saga where they were in the soul society for the first time took forever! Give me a good old samurai champloo or paranoia agent type anime any day.
