Expies = They're the same thing as something from another franchise, everyone knows they're the same, but they're different so that no one gets sued.
Rikti = the aliens in CoH. They're all bad, all the time, and your job as a hero or villian is to kill all of them for the sake of humanity. The alien in that sequence looks like the spawn various super evil extradementional aliens/gods in WH40k.
