I am as well, but I do enjoy Junji Ito's stories purely out of my fascination of horror stories. I don't find them scary but I certainly do not see that as a big issue against them. If you are looking for good or creative horror stories, give his stuff a chance. I cannot say you will be scared by the material however.

I think it's more of a "cerebral" thing.
Like, if you stare into it for too long, you'll torture small woodland creatures and pull the wings off of flies.

Doesn't have much effect when you see that shit in every TRULY horrific horror movie EVER.

I remember that one, it was weird but not really scarey to me.

Re: Doll transformation

Well when you think about it, something like "Uzumaki" (the movie is incredibly tame compared to the comics) is pretty disturbing overall - maybe not frightening in the way that something like that is never physically going to happen - but going along for the ride gets more and more twisted especially since the visuals are somewhat fascinating at the same time as being disturbing...

It's a lot like Lovecraft - although you have to do a lot more of the imaginings yourself...I mean the descriptions in "Shadow over Innsmouth" inspire a mixture of curiosity and disgust - then when you see some visualizations in Yuzna and Gordon's "Dagon" adaptation - it is both revealing and disappointing in different measures....as a simple example - there are plenty of other stories out there that feature different levels of that sort of thing.

Do you mean the Fancy Cherry comic? It has "Ishimoto Chika" in the top right-hand corner of the first page, so I assume that would be the mangaka's name.

Re: Doll transformation

YU-GI-OH ZEXAL vol.03 manga.

I don`t want to type for ages so here is her wikia page:
http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Cologne

Process is off-screen but basically Dr.Faker gave the doll life.
Despite her size still being the same, it is very hard to call her a doll.

She gives clear facial expressions, the only thing I can call doll-like is the lines under her eyes but even then she still looks flesh and blood to me.
She cries, blushes, gets angry, sad, surprised and she becomes part of the main group.

If she ever duels and loses, she will turn back into a doll(or as she refers to it "a miserable doll")

Cologne-chan is cool in my eyes!!!!

I bought the raw of YU-GI-OH ZEXAL vol.03 and got my copy of NO.22 FRAN-KEN and is a BEAST!!!!

Is anyone elese here a yugioh fan or player/collector?

Re: Doll transformation

From off the top of my head...

There's the classic pokemon episodes with Sabrina where she captures Brock and Misty and turns them into dolls for her playhourse.

There were the digimon ones at the end of the first series where one of the villians uses a hanky to transform the heros into key-chain like dolls.

Oh, and an early Yugioh episode in the fillers where Tristan get's put into the mind of a toy-monkey.

Oh, and also ZATCH BELL, god how I loved that series. The demons, 'mamodos' as they were called in the dub were often living dolls, complete with slits under there eyes and occasionally puppet joints. But it takes off of Rozen Maiden so that's to be expected.

Re: Doll transformation

Well, hopefully this is the right place to put this.

I did a Doll tf story a while ago as a request for someone here, and a couple of days ago I remade it into something much better, since my writing has greatly improved since the original request. Some feedback and constructive criticism would be nice.

Re: Doll transformation

Saw your name, had to check it out.
Her hand changes so there seems to be TF.

I do not recognize the art at all.
Will you be able to find the chapter or any other information like the name of the series/oneshot?
