I've been seeing these animated stereoscopic images lately and I couldn't help but wonder what an adaptation of that element would look in something that was actually animated. Here's a small interpretation and the original image, props to the artist.

It looks really weird to me, but I just thought I'd share.
Ah, very cool: I've seen those 3-D pics too, and that's a cool effect you used. I think it might look a little odd to you because you might be thinking her breasts should be swaying side to side?

Also, don't know if it's just my Firefox, but the gif runs at a very fast framerate.

Haha, wow you're right. in fact it seems to respond at different speeds in several browsers, including windows media player classic. It's pretty slow in IE, but I kind of like the way it come up in firefox, heh.

How fast is it in yours? Because mine's going kinda rocket speed.

Wow, hmm, well the raw footage is set at 12fps and after the gif conversion it usually slows down. I'm not sure why it would blaze on your browser, it seems to be fine, yet variable on my firefox/IE/chrome/opera. Try it on a media player or irfanview or something?

also, part of the illusion is to have the frames pretty quick, to a point. sorta like this:

OMG!!!! Every one of those were freaking awesome!!! How in the world did you do that?! I've been animating for a long time and nothing I've done comes close to those.

Wow, thank you.

It's a little complicated for me to put it into a guide, but this is basically some of the general ideas:

Re: B.E Gifs

I can see the 3d effect during the animation, although I have to admit that the motion required is kind of distracting. The guide was also pretty informative.

If you're experimenting with 3d effects and aren't happy with the results from the "wiggle" method, you may also want to look into a cross-eye illusion. The ones I've seen usually have the same picture side by side, with some obvious minor alterations that you would barely notice. When you unfocus/slightly cross your eyes however, you can bring the pictures together (which will actually create the illusion of three pictures) and the middle one will surprisingly "pop" into a 3D view.

I imagine it would be twice as much work to make, at the very least though. And I've never looked into the actual method, I'm only speculating.

I don't think that animation + the 3D effect works well together, because the eye assumes that she's just twitching or something. Still images? Sure. But the illusion fails for a moving image.
