If I was ever spontaneously merged with another person, I hope my composite self wouldn't be as much of a douche.
Would you find it ironic then that Dr. Strangefate is not just a fusion of Fate and Dr. Strange, but also 'Mr. Tolerance', Professor Charles Xavier?

In all seriousness, All-Star Batman & Robin (where "the Goddamn Batman" line was used) was released in 2005; Dark Claw and the entire "Amalgam Comics" series started around 1996.

Then again, who's to say they can't do it again?

I wasn't referencing allstar batman. I'm seriously disappointed Dark Claw didn't return. :/

Ah well. Batchick is still kinda hot.

The thing is, to the amalgams, they are real individuals with their own pasts and everything. If you found out you and this universe were created by a collision of two other universes would you be willing to sacrifice yourself and everyone else in our universe so the other two could have their own separate existences back? If our universe was split in two would you try to restore it, or not think you had the right?

Tch, I'm more disappointed Strangefate didn't make more fem-fusions. Marvel Manhunter and Jubilatman look pretty good while the all-male fusions look kinda dorky.

Re: dc and marvel merge

Let me pose this question to you, mazoku: How would you feel if you found out you were murdering two sentient beings simply by existing?

Besides, I think you're giving the writer way too much credit. Access clearly refers to the merged superheroes as Strangefate's "pawns", so any question of them being driven by the desire for self-survival is shaky at best. My real complaint with this comic is the fact that the amalgamated heroes jump wholeheartedly into attacking Access without ONE of them saying, "Whoa, wait a second." I mean, these people are supposed to be made from heroes, aren't they? As it is, they behave more like brainwashed thugs. Maybe they're just disorientated from the fusion, but that's all the MORE reason why they'd ignore Strangefate's orders, or at the very least simply detain Access until they regained their senses.

Oh, I'm not supporting the writer. I'm entertaining what the viewpoint of alagamated beings would be.

If someone came up to me and showed me I was a fusion of Ma from universe Blahblahblah, and Zoku from universe Deedeedee, I don't think it would bother me so much that I would be willing to be split into two different people (murdered) even if I was told they were there "first". On the other hand, forcibly re-merging two universes and their inhabitants to restore your own is not morally defensible even if from your viewpoint your universe was the original. However it plays out though, someone's going to be surviving at someone else's expense.

There is the point that Amazon (who Superman seemed quite happy to kill to have Wonder Woman back) is the only one from Strangefate's Amalgam universe, the others are apparently artificial, so why are they so gung-ho? Whether his fusion spell was powerful enough to give them enough substance that they're effectively from an alternate Amalgam universe and "real", or they're under some sort of mind-control isn't clear. Perhaps as "creations" of his they simply think the way he wants them to. Strangefate does say they'll do for now, so he probably planned to re-fuse everyone back to the amalgams he knew.

But yes they are acting like characterless goons.

Again, however, Strangefate's worst sin is not using Storm and Wonder Woman to make two more fem-fusions; Green-Storm and Ice-Woman, or something.

I've never been a fan of STAR TREK: VOYAGER, but there was one episode that at least attempted to deal more directly with the issues you're bringing up here:

The scene features Captain Janeway arguing with another "gestalt" being, Tuvix (created from Tuvok and Neelix).
