Ouch... I really hate/love microsoft! - Page 2

Oh, boy, here's the short version: on the PC that my gf (and house guests and stuffs) uses, which is a Vista machine, I tried to restore the hibernate option. I have sleep but not hibernate. After trying some options as suggested by the interwebs, the thing would not boot properly. MS complained that some system file had been messed with, and it thought my copy of windows was not genuine anymore. For 150$, I could reinstall windows, of course. After several attempts, I decided to try a system restore. Went back several days, and Voila! It's working. So far.

Haven't rebooted it yet.

Wish me luck....

BTW: I have a ton of other pcs, so you won't get rid of me if this EXPLODS!

BTW,BTW: First I'm copying all the media, pw files, and bookmarks, to an external drive before I reboot again!
