Re: Nutcracker - Russian Animation
What if the mice are being used as an analogue for the shrinking process, thus an enhanced focus on them?

Nope. The mice are an analogue for "we don't care because there is only red cabbage to eat." The animators had creative freedom because the censors didn't want to admit that they fell asleep watching their films.

Re: Nutcracker - Russian Animation
Hey, hey, Wolfman-al... it's alright. Some people have opinions, and sometimes those opinions hurt our feelings. Let's not let heads roll for it though. As someone who understands how it is like to live under a ruling life that you cannot do anything about, I can see why some people may feel offended, but: "When in Rome"... Understand their ignorance because in America, Communism had been made into a soft joke about by-gone times, The Cold-war was something that had everyone on their toes till the 90s, That should be enough to have many people scared of the potential that could have happened. You know, Like how communism is being mocked in the current game Fallout 4. (Buy the game, love the game.) Now, for the others. You see it upsets him, so please do not further antagonize the situation. We are all here for similar reasons. If you want to be a Troll, go you Youtube, or the Yahoo comment sections.

As animation was at the time, I think you're right. I've look back at lots of old clips in my search for shrinking, and most of the animation sucked loudly from like the late 50's to the 70s or so.
