Re: Stupid Creationist!

Trying to determine what a god would be like based on the natural world sounds like a fun exercise. For one thing it seems like it would be vastly more interested in forms of heat than any carbon based lifeforms, based on the proliferation of stars in the universe. For another it seems a lot more interested in bacteria than any multi-cellular organism. Multi-cellular organisms probably only exist to be carriers of bacteria.

Re: Stupid Creationist!

If man looks upon god. Man could very well be looking at perfection, in looking at perfection man tried to explain it. A foolish chance. Foolish chance indeed.

Man cannot express perfection from an imperfect mouth.

Doesn't mean god exist. But if god DOES exist. We'd never be able to express it well enough for everyone to believe it.

Me? I am just curious

Um... Evolution doesn't 'allow' anything. It's a random process.

Besides, that would be a behavioural thing. Even if it was designed/evolved to be a perfect creature, if it was taught to act like a tosser by its peers then a tosser is what it would act like.

The Null Hypothesis, why you're better off not believing even if it turns out there IS a God.

Don't you love how opponents of evolution don't underdstand it worth a horse's ass?

I once had someone who devoted an embarrassing amount of time and energy to "invalidating" evolution tell me evolution _can't_ be possible because when different species breed they produce infertile offspring! She thought the basis of the theory was different species breeding, resulting in evolved offspring. Nope. Same species, different genetic modifications perpetuated through natural selection. Evolution takes a whole lot longer than hybridism.

The best part was she kept arguing from what she considered to be an expert standpoint after I outed her for not knowing what evolution is. YOU DIDN'T EVEN KNOW WHAT EVOLUTION WAS UNTIL THREE MINUTES AGO! HOW CAN YOU DISPROVE IT? Seriously, open a fucking book. Intellectual apathy is not becoming.

Evolution is imperfect. It puzzles me that people consider this process evidence of the existence of a supernatural creator. If it is, this creator is either not good at their job or has a nasty sense of humour.

So to discredit this guy, people are pointing out that the banana derives from intellegent design.

Re: Stupid Creationist!

Well I'm pretty sure that creationism proponents believe that the creator is someone other than people. I would, however, love to hear the theory that humans created life, the universe, and everything.

We were, after all, created in gawd's image. We can't be that different.

Or it just doesn't give a shite.

That's what I dislike most about creationism (And religion in general. Well, those that go by this claim anyway.)- the sheer egotism needed to assume that. We've only been around a few million years on a planet that's only been here a few billion years.

One tiny, insignificant world in one tiny insignificant solar system in the whole massive universe. We are nothing.

Re: Stupid Creationist!

I'm surprised that anyone here is still arguing about this, i've been ignoring the thread for some time now. I just don't give a bloody damn anymore.

"Life is Life, live it, shut the fuck up and have some god damn pasta!" as the chef at my local Italian restaurant once said to me when we had this argument. That's why I'm his buddy, have a beer and don't give a damn.
