I'm probably a million years late but, there's a sequence in the movie Annihilation where the biologist's crewmate gets assimilated into some kind of spore/cocooned goop and then undergoes a transformation into a metallic humanoid after, mimics her, and then finally transforms into her copy at the end.

Here's one that's been in the making a while, coming in from Voidstrata:

It was originally going to form something of a series where I would have each character twinned by different artists, but I ended up double dipping the Nene character, since I couldn't decide if I wanted the armoured or civilian version more. |
