Re: I FUCKING HATE "The Dark Knight" FANBOYS!!!!

Jack N. had a longer life and career so of COURSE hes done more! Ledger would have been doing tons of movies after this threw him in the spotlight. And Jack played a great Joker for the movie he was in, but the tone of both movies were different.

When you say the movie should stay true to the comic book rather than be realistic, thats an Opinion. Your welcome to have it but you cant say everyone else is wrong for having an opposing view. And sure the SM movie had the sand man... Too bad his back story was torn to shit. And Osborn? story was changed.

Weather or not you think the movie went along with the comics ( and the atmosphere did a great job at that ) Ledgers acting was Incredible. You didnt see Ledger, you saw only the joker. Yes, Dent was played incredibly well, every actor did an impressive job and i think Dent still stood out as great.

It's a character. There can be different actors portraying him.
Agreed. I liked this new version better, but thats just my opinion, and the 1989 is a Close second in my book anyway =)

What i want to know is... Wheres Harley Quinn? D=

English is elmos first language. American isn't. And I notice no spilling arrows in his post. (I used spill cheek on these pots)

You know why?

Sam Raimi isn't bound by realism. "The comic book had an alien symbiote? Then our movie will have an alien symbiote! The comic book had a half-man half-lizard? We inject Dylan Baker with lizard DNA, and presto! The comic book had a guy made of sand? Coming right up!"

Raimi knows that comic book accuracy is more important than realism.

Also, Spider-Man fans acknowledge the existance of the 90s cartoon, as well as the comic book. They don't have Oscar delusions about those movies, either.
Uh, Raimi did Spider-Man the way he did was because it would be inconceivable to make Spider-Man realistic. Nolan did Batman the way he did because to everyone with a brain stem knows that Batman has no super powers, no mutation, no alien origins, etc. Batman is more realistic than to Spider-Man, in terms of how either go about fighting crime. And besides, Batman needed to be refreshed after Schumacher's films.

And if you ask me, a Spider-Fan, Spidey could use some form of a reboot after the third film =/ I would have loved to have seen Venom done right, by means of being based off of the 90's cartoon origin. And Sandman could have been saved for some kind of variant of the Sinister Six. Plus, if Raimi "knows comic book accuracy", he would have had Harry become a non-snowboarding Green Goblin, become addicted to the super-human drug, die, and have Norman come back alive and well enough to fight Spidey again. And stay alive afterward.

And finally, it would not had mattered if The Dark Knight's existence were dependable on Spider-Man. I think you're denying the fact that Superman and Batman started the comic book film trend.

Re: I FUCKING HATE "The Dark Knight" FANBOYS!!!!

He makes good points, yeah he got too worked up over this, but some of the behavior of TDK fanboys is just absurd. How about the fact that they have intentionally been flooding IMDB with perfect scores for TDK, and horrendous scores for The Godfather just to get their precious movie on the top of the list?

Amazing comic movie? Hell yes, arguably the best yet.
Best movie of all time? My ass it is.

On a side note, I really do feel sorry for Raimi with regards to the third film. Had he been allowed to do it the way he wanted, it could have been amazing. But the fans and thus the higher-ups insisted on Venom, and he was forced to change the script. The result was the disappointing film we all love to hate.

A lot of the newer comic book movies are NOT just comic book movies. They have a lot of depth. One of the flicks that started that trend was Unbreakable.

The same with the comic! I'll admit the comics have been getting pretty dark lately, but they leave out a lot of gore or swearing cuz.. y'know, they want 10 year olds to read it too.
Actually, that 'Saturday Morning Cartoon" started airing in the 90's in PRIME TIME. Sure it moved to Saturday mornings but the first run episodes of the first season started running at 8 or 9 pm on either Friday or Sunday nights on Fox. They were trying to get a more adult audience with it and still make it work as a kids show at the same time and they succeeded beautifully.

I'm gonna go ahead and disagree with you there. One of the batman creators said that Ledger's joker is EXACTLY what they had envisioned for the character. It doesn't get more true to the comics than that.

And in the comics, The joker wasn't a normal, everyday mob guy who suddenly became the joker, his first appearance was AS the joker. He came out of nowhere.

Re: I FUCKING HATE "The Dark Knight" FANBOYS!!!!

Also to note appearance wise there is a closer match between the more recent joker and the original comic book version, though not to the dominant version, than between Nicklesons Joker and the original version.
