It seems that my comptuer is able to take .zip files well. I'm wondering if anybody has come acroos a .zip version on the internet. I'll try to look for it myself (although helping me with a general location is OPTIONAL), but I want to know if it is out there?

If you're having trouble with a rar file, I suggest you download Winrar at www.rarsoft.com instead of always asking people to repost files. It's awesome enough that people are taking the time to post the files to begin with. You downloading a program that can handle them doesn't sound all that unreasonable really.

The thing is, I DO have winrar, but it is screwy. Maybe I need to renew the lincense, but I'm still able to download certain things, but not all things.

What exactly does it do when it "doesn't work?" That might help us figure out your problem.

When the problem I mentioned above occurs, a message pops up and says:

(File's Name) could not be opened, because an unknown error occured. Try saving to disk first and then opening the file.

That is what it says in the message, word for word.

Nobody ever replied the last time I gave this advice, so try again I shall.

Open up My Computer and click on the Tools menu, then go to Folder Options.

Go to the File Types tab and locate RAR. Y'all do it, meow?

Click the Advanced button and make sure that "Confirm open after download" is checked. If not, check it and click OK to get yourself back out.

I'm honestly not entirely sure if it will fix the problem, but I'm reasonably sure that it's worth a try.

It seems that the boxes were already checked. Still didn't work, though. And I thought wrong: not all .zip files work as well as I thought.

I would like to thank you all for your concern. I guess it's my problem now.
