Re: Trick r' Treat now TBA

It's been delayed forever now. The first time I remember it being delayed was around the same time the Halloween remake came out. I guess they didn't want to compete with that either.

What if Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte didn't frequent their estheticians quite as often? You might end up with Bitches, the dramedy project now in development at Fox.

Bitches, says the Reporter, revolves around four female friends in New York City whose bad time of the month is, like, seriously bad, seeing as they are all werewolves. (Damn that full moon.) This "quirky urban fairy tale" is being penned by Michael Dougherty (Trick 'R Treat, X2: X-Men United) and, should it get greenlit to series, will be exec-produced by Pushing Daisies' Gretchen Berg and Aaron Harberts.

Werewolves, of course, are the new vampires come the new year, which will bring us Benicio del Toro's (presumably make-up-free?) Wolfman remake and the lycanthropic Twilight sequel, New Moon.
While it sounds mildly interesting - I'm a little curious if Fox is even going to be able to use a title like this for network TV (although it's been a while since I watched anything other than DVDs of TV shows so maybe things have changed regarding language). FX might be a possibility...

Either way, it's Fox...they'll find some way to really jack it up.

Personally, I'd still rather see an ensemble show like this with a slightly different twist than ordinary werewolves. Let's see some different animals - maybe you have a really snooty, fashionable woman who turns into a well-coiffed French poodle, and a hippy who turns into an afghan hound or something...I don't know - let's mix it up and make it more interesting. How about some were-farm animals?

No...NO!
Why, Fox, WHY?!
"We" seriously don't need this kind of negative publicity!

Even if "Bitches", or what ever they end up calling it, is a good show it's going to go though the network merry-go-round of death that any "weird" show is put though. You know where it's on wensdau one week, friday the next, then tuesday. Then gets canceled and is quietly released on DVD a year later.

And anyone hoping for a decent TF...as we all are...will be very disappointed. I smell awful CGI. Not to mention I have a feeling they'll go towards my personal pet peeve which is the women either controlling or embracing the change. I've always been more of the AWIL type, person would rather cure themselves storyline.

Re: Trick r' Treat now TBA

Well don't jump the gun yet. With a varied group of characters, they could have a "Samantha" that fully embraces the animal passions, and a more mousy member of the cliq that is embarrassed or still views it as a curse.

TF wise, if they actually do a full tf scene I can see some CG. But more so I'd imagine lil mid tfs showings throughout, possibly gags. Like one getting hairier and say sideburns and a unibrow, leads to an easy waxing joke ;P.

Glad to hear this is moving forward, regardless.

Re: Trick r' Treat now TBA

Shouldn't someone make a separate thread for this "Bitches" show instead of bumping up the Trick r' Treat topic? It's misleading to people who are thinking every new post might actually have something to do with the actual topic.

Re: Trick r' Treat now TBA

I managed to see one of the AICN sponsored Trick 'r Treat screenings, and it's a pretty good film. I can also confirm that there is indeed a pack of female werewolves. The specific style for their transformations is ripping their skin off as if they're disrobing; IIRC the director said he was aiming for a 'dance of the seven veils' vibe. Not my favorite style, but at least it looked like practical effects and not cheesy CGI.

"Meh." From what it sounds like, the transformations won't be that thrilling. Especially for all the hype it's gotten, somehow it doesn't seem worth it to just catch a few small TFs. That's just me though... if you're into that kind of thing, go for it.

Well my hype isn't over a couple of werewolves, my hype is over how this looks like a sweet american horror movie. We haven't gotten many of those since Saw and The Ring ruined the horror genre for everyone else.

Re: Trick r' Treat now TBA

I'm still looking forward to this movie, and skin ripping TFs don't bother me a bit so I'm still looking forward to the werewolf TF scene.
