"Funniest Home Videos" and clip shows like that have been around before the internet was blooming like it is now. People that I knew always watched that because it was full of people fucking up and stuff. People swarm to it because it's just cheap humor. Some moron jumps off of his roof and breaks his neck. It's funny because it's not themselves getting hurt but someone else. I don't see it as people progressing towards it. Just watching it for entertainment.
