Nah, he actually initially didn't hear the question correctly (he assumed.) The teacher took back the mic and said 'he asked, uh, he asked how you survived such dangerous situations.'

The sad thing? This was one of the few assembly's I enjoyed.

autism, eh?
Well if your ever denied work. Then sue them for discrimination. You might get an out of court settlement if you scare them enough

Same here, actually. Fortunately, I've only got it mildly though.

If they admit its because of autism. Concept works in theory not in practice.

Well, it does sound like your mom has your best interests in mind and I have to be honest that I had to look up what autism was again. But I think your mom is right though, she?s probably afraid that if you tell your friends about certain things, that you might do the same thing in other situations as well. About the whole blackmailing thing etc, even though it?s a rather gloomy and pessimistic way of looking at things people will always judge each person differently, especially people with a certain ??weakness?? will often be judged unfairly.

All that I know about is that people with autism have different development cycles during their lives in these areas: Communication, social and repetive behaviour.
My personal belief and imho, never ever reveal anything that could be considered a weakness, especially towards the society, unless it's of such a nature that you cannot deal with it without help. Reality is harsh people will always discriminate in some way or another, because we all have our own beliefs or what we think is right or wrong.

Indeed. Of course that would never happen. After all people would only do something if it in some way benefits them, instead of looking out for each other.
Saint?s don?t exist. And even saint?s probably did stuff just so that they felt good themselves.

I don?t really have a good way of saying it, but: True unselfish deeds don't exist?
But meh, now it feels like I'm ranting.
So somebody else talk again. ;p

Re: My mom is crying because I reveal 'personal' information to friends.

I am Asperger different myself. Was diagnosed last month, and I'm 28. The doctor told me that it isn't autism. It's different. It's no handicap, just that your brain work differently than so called "normal" people. The doctor I saw, is THE authority on autism and this kind of things. Autism and Asperger are two different parts of a group that they call TED in French TED mean: Troubles Envahissant du D?veloppement (more or less Invading development troubles in English) the third part is like a all you can eat buffet, as they class everything else there.

As I said, it's a difference, not an handicap. It's like driving a Subaru while everybody else drive a Toyota. Both cars can do the same things, but differently.

And I'm not so sure if your mom really want to help though, seems like she's in denial but don't be mad at her, it's difficult for parents sometimes to see when theirs kids are not "normal". I was diagnosed that late in my life, because when I was little, my kid sister had cerebral paralysis and was epileptic and my folks had to work REALLY hard with her so she could walk, talk and all those things, and for them, I seemed normal. Alone, but normal.

I don't know if people realize how difficult it is for us to friends and that kind of stuff. Right now, I don't even know if I'll ever have a girlfriend one day. But right now, it's not one of my short term goals though.

Err, it's because the way we think make it difficult for us to live in the world. It's kinda complicated, my specialty is computers and classing cars by brand using theirs design...

Well, I don't mean to make light of anyone's problems or differences, but sometimes I wonder if I have a syndrome or something. I really do think differently than a lot of people. But maybe it's just my creative side? Oh, well.
