@Morwalugi

... yanno, personally I was just assuming it was simply being "too busy for art" like, you know, I often get stuck by because of my own job and frankly the fact that even a minimal wage job pay more than the average art commission for people who'll sometimes rant about the most assinine detail afterward but I think you're right,

Especially with people like you criticizing artists like you do without base or foundment, I can see why some would rather just disapear and not be heard of to stop dealing with such.

I've talked to him via e-mail, so I can ask. Hope he comes back and talks more, he's a nice guy.

I would suggest you read the book
"Vermeers Hat"
where the author writes a whole book about those little details in a
painting by Vermeer named " Officer and a Laughing Girl"

than see if its possible to write a whole book about Sotys
"Ranger Girl into masterbating Werewolf Thing" tf sequence he did about
a half decade ago

Dare I asks what is even the point of this comparison?

Did Soty ever claim he was the new Vermeer? Has the TF community -ever- claimed TF art was the new Renaissance of art?

Please answer this question. If yes, then maybe this kind of comparison does applies.

But if no... then please tell me what even is the point of this borderline trolling comparison? What is it that leads you to troll people over their art and holding it up against standards they -never- claimed to be equal to? What is that leads you to somehow make it a personal -crusade- to belittle people because at some point they did, yes, porn for TF fans because, what do you know, someone was -paying- them for it.

And while we're at it, I have news for you. This Vermeers you seem fond of suddenly comparing against an artist who only did a TF sequence for the extra bucks which were helpful at the time...

Well, this Vermeers is dead. And so is the culture of art that spawned him.

People never pay for symbolic and researched art anymore. They don't care for the next mona lisa for the sake of producing the next mona lisa. They will care for the -money- they can make with the concept design produced.

People don't pay people to produce the next mona lisa to amass dust in a museum. They pay for the next mario bros to develop as a character of successful gaming franchise. The next Assassin's Creed main character. The next -commercial- fantasy artist they can hire to cram their roleplaying books full of art. Or the artist that will next produces porn that will cater to their fetish.

Your Vermeers... is dead. Since one if not two centuries.

Welcome to the commercial age.

And that's just covering -professional- artists. Amateurs who never claimed to be professionals don't even need to be involved in this like you seem to be adamant to with the likes of TF artists like Soty.

Soty ... I've chatted with him before but he seemed ... distant. I don't know if it was because my art sucked then, I wasn't "worthy" to talk to him (like with certain other artists) or he's "busy. Dunno.

Oh, c'mon. Soty has always been supportive of new artists.

I don't even know what artists think others aren't 'worthy' to talk to them.

Re: new SOTY?

I'll admit I never talked to him myself though many people who did. Maybe he was just busy.

God knows I can be snappish myself after a rough day at work(I don't think I would even had bothered to reply to morwaluigi hadn't it been for the -really- rough workload rush at work that day... )

I could think of quite a few from DeviantArt offhand, not necessarily TF artists, but just popular artists (or cosplayers). At least I try to respond to comments even if it is a simple thanks.
