That's the problem with forum mentality. Why fuss at someone for reviving an old topic if you plan on fussing if it was reposted? People like things their own way, I get it, it's fine. But to sit behind a wall and tell someone they're wrong in a situation that they couldn't win, well, that's cowardice.

I, for the most part, do agree with Wildcat though. I don't feel he's (assuming you're a man) being unreasonable. He was just stating a fact. Sure, there was a hint of unhappiness in it (if the italics could be read as that), but really, what did he do wrong? Informing someone that they should look a bit more next time. That's pretty much it. Lay off, guys. Let the argument die. It's fine.

Right. I agree.

Bumping with content is fine. Anyone who complains about an old topic being revived for good reason is in the wrong. It's when people bump threads to ask why a three year old link is dead or whether an unfinished sequence will continue that it qualifies as a "necro."

So you're saying they should then make a new thread asking about a three year old link?

Look, I get what you're saying. But forums are, for the most part, filled with people who shoot first and ask questions later. When does it stop? When does a community just give up on their prejudices? Ever noticed that usually "older" members are the ones messing with "newer" members?

No, they should post in one of the request threads asking where the material can be found now.

That is a problem. There's a tendency online to embiggen oneself at the cost of others, to make some clever remark to show how much more you know than "some noob." We should remember we are all ignorant of a great many things, and that our ignorance was greater in the past. We should also remember to use common sense, which can prevent many forum faux pas. When a community works together for the betterment of all, everyone trying a little harder to get along, it can change dramatically.

Re: New TF game found

I think the real problem with the internet in general is that people feel empowered when they're behind a keyboard, or are just bigots in general who refuse to accept when they might be wrong. Pity, but hey, we can't kick everyone off the innernets, eh?

And you are right. A community of any kind is less hostile when every gear spins with the others.

Re: New TF game found

Regardless, I came here looking for something new and found it. I would have searched for something I never knew the name for. There is my point, goodbye thread.
