-Being Human US second season. Erin turns into a werewolf. 30 seconds? less? And this appears in the promo of the main season.
-13 Hrs. Sarah turns into werewolf. The "main" starting is 4 or 5 seconds long. And an image of her, changing, appears on the trailer.
-Howling Reborn. Kathryn turns into werewolf in flashes for less than a few seconds. The whole "flashes" appear on the trailer.
WTF happens here? So, or everyone has some degree of TF fetish that don't admit, or simply the transformations are something that many people, not reaching to the level of "fetish", really appreciate. And they know it, or at least they suspect it.
What do you think?
I've talked of this before, but it has come to my understanding that the female is "perfect" in the ideals of not only men but other women too. Especially if your appeasing to a younger crowd. The idea of "corrupting" or "disrupting" this imagery could, in the producers/director's eyes, garnish negative feedback and/or disinterest in the "dramatic effect" of a female presence.

Look at transformers for God's sake.

Yes, I remember that. But just partially agree. It is true that statement about perfection and so on, but it is also true the attraction for the "dark side". The corruption of purity, there is something in damaging the beauty, in twisting something perfect, and see what is inside of it. Why is violence so popular? It is not just our "instincts", but our certain degree of curiosity. And that is also a powerful force.

I think this is a combination of two factors:

First, just as body types for women are strictly regulated in culture, so too are roles. Women rarely have a chance to be anything outside of maiden, mother, or matron; and even then maiden is the only one that really fits into most heroic stories. Monster doesn't fit maiden, and only kind of fits matron (which would be why evil queens and witches have a habit of turning into dragons)

Second, going against type is a selling point. It's something new and special and fancy. Having your maiden be a monster is exciting. But the reason that type exists is because that's popular. That's what people want to see. So you advertise something new while delivering what the audience already expects.

Yes, as a matter of fact the idea of female vampires is something that has been accepted recently thanks to "You know what". Before vampire fandom was considered as equals to gothism or any other related occult forms.

Female vampires isn't a 'post Twilight' thing. Vampire chicks have been accepted by the mainstream for ages, like before any of us were even born.

You mean like Carmilla, the titular lesbian vampire in the Sheridan Le Fanu novella published in 1872?

It goes back even further than I thought. Vampire chicks have been popular ever since cavemen first drew paintings of big tittied cavewomen with fangs on their walls.

I think you're over-thinking that one quite a bit.

Re: Wolves

There's more than one kind of joke. That was not sarcasm, but it was a joke none the less.
