Re: TF-Media is BACK
I don't see signing up as necessarily a bad thing. I used to hate the Yahoo Groups that required approval of the owner before you could view anything. I understand it was to keep spambots out, but it was annoying.

Re: TF-Media is BACK
I wonder if doc's lab recent and current DB issue (hosted on tf-media0 failure with lots of MySQL errors) is related to tf-media coming up.
Some conflict in the versions/issue with the two DBs stepping on each other perhaps? http://www.thelabforum.com/forum/vie...c53bf&start=30 |

Re: TF-Media is BACK
Whoa. Just read that error message. The MySQL username and password are written in clear text for everyone that sees that error message! Good job, PHP.

Re: TF-Media is BACK
The Doc's Lab error has been fixed. It was a hosting problem.
I have no idea how their site is coded, and I'm not in control of whatever they're doing. If it was me, that username and password wouldn't have been printed, ever. :P

Re: TF-Media is BACK
I've saved a copy of the XML version of the stories (that aren't CYOT), and I've been placing them into separate word documents in my free time, and yes it took quite a bit of effort. I can send them to you if you want (it's in my dropbox anyways). I'm not entirely sure it's the full collection though, all I know is i started with around 100+ thousand lines to clear, and now I have around 20 thousand lines left.
The layout of the site is simplistic and elegant, I find that it's a really well made site with nice features. Thanks TFGuy. Here's the link to the dropbox folder with the stories that I've managed to preserve... at least. Dropbox folder |

Re: TF-Media is BACK
It's really a PDO issue, and PDO ships as part of PHP. Yes, error messages should not be turned on in a production environment and there should ideally be a try/catch statement wrapping the call, but things like passwords should never be echoed to output for any reason, even for debugging purposes. I don't know another data access product or ORM that does anything that catastrophically derpy when it dies.

Re: TF-Media is BACK
In case anyone's curious, the gallery has just been re-opened. Captions and Art are now available to be posted and viewed on the site.
