I really like the work that WLP does, but since I only really run across their stuff at cons (WLP being local to my home state of Texas) I've usually spent most of my cash by the time I see them. Still, those guys are always extremely friendly, and the stuff they have to offer is top notch.
Come to think of it, if anyone is interested in getting some of their stuff and doesn't want to muck with ordering from their website, I could try to hook things up next time they're at a con I'm at. I know it's probably some what more suspicious putting your trust in some guy who happens to be at the same forum as you, but... |

I say f*** supporting people, I'm unemployed(my parent's, well my mom, won't let me get a job because I have too much energy and tend to get a whole day's work done in an hour), and this stuff is as hard as finding copies of disgaea or other games by whomever created that game...

Then you don't get it. If you can't afford it, you lose out. And if your mom won't let you get a job, you're too young for it anyway.

Look, Warlock, it's not that I'm not of age(I'm eighteen, no matter what people say), it's just that my mom's over protective of the youngest in the family, meaning she won't let me do any of the fun stuff

You know, Shadow, there was a place like people for you, once.
It was called Communist Russia. In all seriousness, if you can't afford it, tough shit. Guess what - I've got hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of student loans to pay off. You're living at home with your folks. My heart goes out to you, you poor unfortunate soul. "Oh, my mother refuses to allow me to get a job... which means she must be paying for each and every expense i could possibly think of! The horror... THE HORROR!" I can't afford it either, but I don't feel entitled to have OTHER PEOPLE seek it out for me and then GIVE IT TO ME, so that any chance that might have existed of my purchasing the product once I DO have some disposable income evaporates in its entirety! Christ. I have no problem with somebody younger than me being interested in this stuff... I was, when I was your age. But don't be a spoiled brat. Last edited by Kyu; 08-15-2005 at 11:58 PM. |

Life isn't about instant gratification.
Honestly, the kind of attitude you're espousing Shadow - is what has driven many contributors away from the TF community. I don't really think age is an excuse - but then you're hardly the only person guilty of the "gimme gimme gimme" If you take the time to look at the WLP website, you'll see that Kris Overstreet has basically been trying to keep it a going concern for many years now. The webcomics on the site are free - they don't have to be and one can hardly say that the pricing of any of WLP comics is anything less than reasonable. So - appreciate you're not ingratiating yourself with people if you're demanding to steal from a small company, simply because you're not in a position to buy something now. |

Another thing is I live in a small community that has absoluetly no form of commuting into town for just a small fee or free, and there are no jobs that I can get here(because there are none)...
Sometimes my town sucks... But enough picking on me for being cheap, poor, and unemployed, screw phantom-boy, and just get a torrent Because there's no way in hell that I'd go into a convention, even if it was in and out for the comics... the fans... they scare me... |

Shadow, if the people who like this stuff don't pay for it, who will? Pretty soon there'll be no more Milkmaid to view. If you want to keep reading it, WLP needs the money for bandwidth and publishing costs.

Good, then you won't be able to read it.
The fact that not enough people bought it when it was first offered, that people seemingly prefered to just try and wait for download is part of the reason why we've had to wait so long for the second issue and why they'll probably be all there ever is of the series. |
