Bah, that's what makes Ohzy fun ^_^

But no, I hadn't known that. I'm glad Quatitch ended up the way he did though. It was a great performance. ^_^

Re: Just got back from Avatar

Selfridge was a bit too 2-dimensional of a character in my opinion. Tsu'tey is still on hte top of my list of favored characters though. As passionate and proud as he was, he was still able to recognize what needed to be done and ride with Jake, despite what I'm sure were some very strong feelings.

Re: Just got back from Avatar

I saw it on my birthday. Ferngully meets Last Samurai but with the good guys winning, is what I thought after watching the whole thing. Nice to see Sigourney Weaver in a movie again (I grew up on the Alien Trilogy, lol).

I also thought the CGI was well done and meshed QUITE well with the few parts that actually were real-life. That night I saw on either Entertainment Tonight or whatever one of those Hollywood gossip shows it was a thing on how they filmed it and DAMN I was impressed. I mean, seriously: motion capturing all the actors who were Navi and getting their CGI personas perfectly synchronized was just AWESOME to think about.

I didn't see it in 3D, because frankly I got bored with the concept of 3D back when I was a barely-teenager. The only way 3D will impress me is if they do a 3D environment for videogames that simulate EVERYTHING you see in the game and how you interact with people and things. Until then, I'm happy with splitting my time between real-life stuff and 2D.

Re: Just got back from Avatar

Well they developed new technology for teh film so that they could do the motion capture and see it in the virtually rendered world in real time, allowign Cameron to direct the actors being captured in order to ensure that everything really did line up and interact realistically.
