I propose that each person PMs Joeman a five-digit string of random, nonconsecutive numbers, and pair people off or round-robin them in numerical order (from 00000 to 99999) and display the numbers sent in along with the listings, so we'll know if there are shenanigans. Objections? (after all, it's a small chore compared to actually creating something.)

Anyways, nobody would play the lotto if you didn't have the option to pick your own numbers.

If we'd rather keep the "secret santas" a "secret," could even just publish the number jumbles AFTER Christmas.

More work than it's worth? Well, everyone says that, until they get the sneaking suspicion (with or withOUT merrit) that they've been arbitrarily matched.

Also, if there are worries about whether or not we might get stiffed on the present in return, maybe all the entries should be submitted to one central person (in this case, I would assume Joeman?) and released only under the condition that the other person has finished their half? I mean, 'tis the season to be sharing. No freeloaders! :P (this wouldn't work so well for a round-robin style exchange, though. Which should be fine if this is a "secret santa" type exchange.)
That 5 digit number idea will work. It makes it a little more random than my pull-the-name-out-of-my-hat method I was going to use. I want to make it look like I am not cheating as much as possible. So:

People participating, please think of any 5 digit number (example: 12345) and PM it to me by Wednesday. If you don't, I'll personally generate a number for you.

Also, If some one is "stiffed," I will contact a moderator and ask for you to be banned. If this does actually happen, I guess I will personally draw a request of the person who got "stiffed." It probably will not come to this, just be warned.

I don't think anyone could see apic of Test's or Hmm's and not know where it came from- the "secret" part is more that you don't know who got your name until you get it.

Ah, that's good. I've also finished mine, but I'll post mine within the next couple of days, so that it's in in time for the deadline.
