I also loved the SW one. Y'know, seeing as that's my favorite process and all. I *REALLY HOPE* you do another SW. Either way, fabulous work.
Thanks, I plan to do more. Right now I'm working on a button up blouse (which will pop-pop-pop hopefully) For that one I'll do a longer animation (slower, too)

I'll try and work in some SW. I'm not a big fan of it, but they're not as difficult as a growth shot.

I've been using 3ds Max but it's cloth has nothing like that!!!
Animation Master has built-in cloth, hair, physics and a kickass animation system. All for a very low price.

But because it doesn't like to play with other programs.. it hasn't really become super popular. You cant import anything from Max or Poser or Maya or anything and immediately work with them. Generally you need to build all your models from scratch with its spline-based modeler. If all you know is poly modeling from Max then it's quite a learning curve.

The tearing is manual, first I simulate the cloth. Then at frame X I stop the simulation, render what I have, then delete patches from the dress. restart the simulation where I left off. Just keep repeating that and it's done! There might be an easier way to do it which I need to try.

Awesome work, congrats on the tearing, it looks great!
I'd like to put a vote in for a BE animation from you, I think you would do well with it.

Ah, I too have Animation Master (2003 Ed.) and I was wondering how you go about with the little "Bursts" of growth. Usaully, and I haven't really put much work into this, it renders rather like a continual tween than a set frame-to-frame action. Perhaps I am doing it incorrectly... I used the parameters section of the model to change the character scaling. What do you do?

I've included a short .mov file to show what I mean, although I apologize for the lack of animation. I'm only really just dabbling.

If I can somehow get this problem solved (and procure a new computer) I guess there could be two Animators working this beat. ^_^

[Edit] For some reason, after taking an ungodly amount of time, the forum told me that my file could not be uploaded. (It's within the size limits) So, I said, screw this, I'm going to photobucket. Here's the final product.

It'll play slower than normal and there aren't any frills. I just threw it out there as fast as I could.

The timeline editor will show the curve of your scale. Add your keyframes so that the curve of the scale looks like steps instead of a slope.

Ah, thank you. I just read through a majority of the tutorials on your site, they were Very informative. My attachment was broken, but I got it up again.
With that being said, I'm interested in pursuing this further.

<---- Has gotten into the habit of starting every post with "Ah" and including at least one comma in every sentence. Bad. >_<

This is great stuff. Once you can figure out popping buttons, there's no limit to how kick ass you can get it.

I'll second a BE attempt, with ripping if possible.

How long does it take to model the dress, run the dynamics and make the tearing happen?

If you're not sick of suggestions, I'd like to see a little more story in your next movie, showing her do something, intentionally or otherwise, to tirgger a size-change. Potions are always fun.

Well if you have any questions send em my way. But the cloth simulation I use is only available in the latest version of Animation Master, the 2006 edition.

I figured out popping this morning! w00h00! Not only that, but also how to then grab the cloth with her hands then tear it apart. (awesome, no?)

Modeling the dress is actually pretty easy, it doesn't even have to look good at first. For the dress she wears it's basically a giant cylinder with holes cut in it for the arms, but when I run the simulator I shrink the cloth down so it's a bit more form fitting and more appealing.

But finding the right settings to make the cloth move nicely, and keeping see-throughs and collisions from occuring takes a long time.

I completely agree. I've used Maya, XSI and Max as well. When it comes to animation, AM can't be beat. and for such a low price too! But if I could, I'd rather model in XSI.

I've got something planned which should make the BE folks, shrink fans and the growth-ees all very happy. I've figured out how to do it all now, so now it's just about building the sets, setting up an additional 2 characters and then animating the thing! I plan to use the same model, but I need to change the hair and clothing for each. I don't want to use clones.

I am impressed to no ends at your animations. They are some of the most well made animations to grace the GTS scene. I think there's something to be said for turning pro to the community.
