The story is very interesting as well. Poor Mertle.

Hey, are we allowed to bump old threads?

I wrote this story and am finally coming back to it after losing interest months ago. I added a chapter 6 a couple days ago and am working on a chapter 7.

A few points:

- The worst of Mertle's transformations are over, and many of them will revert. My idea for the 626 DNA is that it changes you to suit its needs, so if you try to stop it, it stops you. I don't really like to spell those sort of things out, rather let the reader deduce it. It's fun to write "mysteriously" (though I use the term loosely), like how I use dreams in this story. Rest assured it all has a purpose, though it's still in service of a bizarre fap fic.

- I was told about this thread on 4chan back in June, but I was already on my way out so to speak in regards to being done/taking a hiatus, so I didn't pursue full membership to see this thread for myself. Some of the quotes I read, given to me by other full members, worried me that the Mertle chapter was being somewhat misunderstood. Chapter 6 is, subsequently, very heavy on the exposition. Mertle is not discussed directly in regards to how she mutated, but the 626 DNA is discussed heavily and hopefully what it did to Mertle can be better understood.

- One of my inspirations for this story was David Cronenberg's The Fly. So while I hate to see people so thoroughly disgusted by my story, I'd be lying if I said that wasn't partially the point. To me mutation and transformation should be painful and grotesque. I'm not heavily into sadomasochism but I do enjoy it when transformations are as realistic as possible. Pain and disgust would be an unavoidable reality if you were to mutate at such a fast rate.

My biggest regret with this story is taking a hiatus after Mertle's chapter. It was meant to be an aside-- there's a reason I labeled it "Deviation I" (I have a plan for a Deviation II, in fact). It was intentionally shorter than other chapters. It was meant to be easily skipped if you're just concerned with the overall plot. Unfortunately it was presented more like a grand finale given that it was the last thing I wrote for half a year, and I think that might have colored peoples' view of it.

Regardless, I'm back in the saddle and one of the reasons I finally sought full membership status on this forum was to take ideas. The places I planned to go with this story will only last me for another two to three chapters at most (maybe four with the planned second Deviation). Hentai Foundry users rarely comment on fics unless it's to ask when the next chapter will be, so I thought this would be a good platform to ask what the fans want to see next, assuming I have any left. :P
