I've found a colored version of it... I understand your reasons against the free distribution on web of a paper comic, but I also see more of episodes posted on the board are from scanned paper pages... So where is the right? Probably in our own conscience: I found it, try to see, like it... Do I share it or not?... I post the link: have your chance (mods can delete if it's a forbidden post).

You absolute jackass. There is a vast difference between works that aren't available publically outside Japan or available anywhere and something that someone has repeatedly tried to sell to this community only to be flanked by a cuture of leeches.

I hope you try to create a business only to see it killed by cheapass people thinking they deserve something for free. Fuck you.

Hmmm, I had a nice little essay on my response to this, but looks like fate didn't want anyone to see it, as the power went out just as I finished typing.

Anyway, in my shortened up version: Flaming a person, or group of people, will never, ever change their opinion. If anything at all, it would make them do it even more. Sure it's nice to voice your opinions, but into todays world, it's useless. If you want to fix the problem that others have caused, than put your actions to where your mouth is. If you don't want to see something go bankrupt, donate an extra few dollars to help support them. I'm sure if the company suddenly started receiving letters filled with donations, they would surely survive their current situation.

Isn't this business though one that has conned a lot of people out of money? I know I have heard from several sources the same thing as the one guy in this thread has mentioned, where they paid out money and didn't get anything in return. If it was a business that as someone else put on here, actually proven itself a trustworthy one that provided their product well, like... Marvel compared to Dreamwave, it would be a lot more cut and dry. And on that note, several of those works I know can be imported from japan, so that in itself isn't so cut and dry.
Not that I'm completely defending the guy for saying he wants it, but people are giving the company way too much credit of being an honest one.

Very congratulations for your education. You are from Oxford University, aren't you?
Are you sure *ALL* mangas posted are authorized to be shared outside Japan?

No other word to add as comment to your. I talk with people having another behaviour... -_- I let's the admin/mods to delete that address or invite me to do it.

I wouldn't say conned, exactly. My situation was more of accidental incompetence rather than outright malice. There's a big difference, and though I won't shop at WLP again 'till it looks like they have their act together more (And with all the trouble they've been having with PayPal/YowCow/What-the-hell-ever, I don't know when that will be) it doesn't speak poorly of their integrity.

The question is not whether the distribution of japanese manga makes it ok to distribute american comics. One is clearly wrong, and illegal. The only question is whether it's ok to distribute the japanese stuff. I don't know. Maybe it isn't. We should look into it. What I do know is that if you can walk into a store and buy something, as you can with Magnificent Milkmaid, or if you can order it online, then getting a scanned copy of it for free is theft.

And if you're not sure whether it's ok to post something, please, ask a moderator first. You can post it just as easily after Lorekeep okays it.

I'd like to know something. Anyone who wants this comic and doesn't yet own it: have you gone to a comic shop? Have you looked into ordering it online? Don't trust WLP? Order from Radio Comix, or whatever store you do trust. If you don't find it right away, keep looking. I have a long list of comics I want to read that I haven't found yet. Been searching for years. When you do find it, pay for it, take it home, and read it, it's worth it. Unless it's bad. Then, not so much. But bad comics aren't worth stealing, either.

Manga scans are just as illegal as Milkmaid scans, just that people hide behind the lower likelyhood of getting caught by the copyright holder, where at the Yahoo Group recently posted you can see proof that Kris is actively trying to get the group closed.

Small scale scans, such as small sections would be okay under fair use, but entire comics...

I was trying to make him feel bad about it, and realize why he should feel bad about it. Punishing someone for doing wrong is much more effective than trying to 'persuade' them, especially on the internet. Most of the time they won't change anyway, so at least you can piss them off.

Also, I don't like fixing problems others have caused; that's their responsibility. I don't clean up after people. I will point out the error of their ways and let their own shame get them to fix the problem.

I Think that is the offical definition of flaming. That pretty much makes you worse than the filesharers, at least in my eyes.

In any case, I will not argue about file sharing. I do believe that if you were never going to spend the money on something anyways, that *copying* it is not a harmfull act, but I digress.
