Process you want, process you get!
Now that there is darn near animation... and this was the first page where I realized that we are really doing the storyboards for a cartoon. Click to enlarge! http://www.giantgirladventures.com/comics/iss5pg22-23

Re: Giant Girl Adventures Webcomic
It is most defiantly a highlight of the comic so far.
Is Koen going to do more elaborate stuff like this in the future?

Re: Giant Girl Adventures Webcomic
Actually yes. he was unhappy witht he old shrinking and growing graphic I came up with and developed this one, that is a little crazy but it surely is cool. So while it won't be on every page, he has started incorporating it regularly into the size-changing.
Though in the odd way the comic ends up being drawn, this was the latest evolution of this style, if that makes sense- the origin of it is in a panel in the next issue he hasn't even colored yet.

Re: Giant Girl Adventures Webcomic
We're still arguing over scenes like this where he thinks a solid graphic has more impact than special effect. Thoughts?

Re: Giant Girl Adventures Webcomic
Ok obviously these are just my two cents. No one should take this as a personal attack or anything more seriously then idle thoughts and observations.
I may be inclined to agree normally, but when our heroine is a giantess, scale is inherently part of the experience. It's not just another detail, it's an intrinsic part of what makes her who she is. Putting scenes over a generic background removes part of what makes the characters here unique and interesting. So Ronni cold clocks the girl? Does she hit anything? How the heck is the city still standing while this is going on? These are kind of part of the equation when your scene is two walking skyscrapers beating the heck out of each other. It can just be a little underwhelming, particularly when the prior pages have gone into an impressive level of detail. As I said, just my observations, the creative team are more then welcome to tell me to bugger off any time they like and I totally respect that. |

Re: Giant Girl Adventures Webcomic
The hat... ah, the bane of my existence is that hat, that appears in one panel then not in another. You get a Giant Spot, Global, cuz you got me there.. the other dozen times in the issue I caught it, but he really, REALLY likes to draw her without the hat a lot, and here's the first time it has caught us squarely.
As for you Joe- nope, you've got a point, and that's why I asked. I will actually pass this long to Keon directly, because coming from fans carries more impact than just me. Thanks for taking the time to express it!

Re: Giant Girl Adventures Webcomic
Better? Keeping in mind we script far in advance and the pages are generally drawn months in advance as well...

Re: Giant Girl Adventures Webcomic
I'd say this might be the best page so far. The previous page on the hand has a minor characterization issue that was pointed out on the Facebook page, and might be something to address in the future.
