You will always get people who want everything free, now there are people who like your artwork and sadly are strapped for cash and can't give you a donation and do miss out on it.
That being said, that would be at your discretion, as you are in need of funds, the donation model is by far your better choice as it gives people a reason to donate, where as in if you offer it all for free, the people who did donate don't get anything "special" for the money. Quite the pickle.

yeah, thats the tough part. I dont believe in asking for money without giving a good or service in return. So maybe the next few works i do will be put up for free, then return to donations and keep alternating

Yeah, alteration seems the best choice. That way you don't lose your rep and stuff like that. Thouuuuugh, the file packs seem a bit off now that I'm editing them.

That's a lot of detail for a new thing for ya.
A-KNEE-WAY, I'd say bring back Melon or a quick comic at least. You just got 500,000 views or so, so give that as an excuse. An audience and consumer base always wants to feel like you're doing this as profitable entertainment, not a job in the end. So you don't turn this into a dead horse.
