Fetuses are clumps of cells. So are organs. If someone thinks that means fetuses are organs, it's because they're a complete idiot, not because anyone else stated facts. I'm a clump of cells. So are you. If you think that makes us organs, I'm inclined to believe you never developed beyond a couple meiotic divisions (in which case you literally are a very small collection of cells.)

If you possess requisite knowledge and utilise it to formulate your opinion, it's worthwhile. The problem is anti-choice idiots like Lila Rose who both lack knowledge and have incorrect knowledge which they base the legislation they push on.

Two of the best OB/GYNs I know are dudes. They are better qualified to dictate how abortion should and shouldn't be done than most women. They're better informed than most women and formulate their opinions about abortion based on that knowledge. That's what matters.

Honestly, I don't see a need to continue that at all. It's not like there's any startlingly new revelations that anyone is going to present on either side of that argument. It'll be the same thing that everyone always says for their respective sides. Why not wait until there's actually something new to talk about on the subject? Like after a new law is introduced that people can either complain about, or show support for. As it stands it was just a brief derailment to another topic, it can be left at that until something newsworthy comes up to spark an entirely new thread about it.

I don't care whether others want to continue the discussion of firearms and legislation surrounding their ownership. It strikes me as more than a little rude to be derailing a discussion pertaining to ignorance surrounding human reproduction and reproductive rights with a gun wank though. It ranks up there with engaging in roleplay in a sincere discussion thread.

Oh-k, Rach. I think it's mostly a function of the type of forum you're posting this on, and the long time users who inhabit here. This is a transformation forum, so people here are often very open minded and have less a need to keep within normal boundries of discussion and posting. There are a lot of creative and artistic people here who are always exploring new ideas and changing things and like to free associate ideas. We can post lots of stuff in General or Flaming Bullshit that are off topic to transforming fetish art, but it's not the main thrust of the forum is it?

Artistic and/or creative aren't synonymous with tacky and incapable of sincere discussion. I'd classify people who aren't capable of serious discussion, not as special snowflakes, but as simple.

The vast majority of this forum is dedicated to transformation fetish. The notion anyone is being stifled or censored or restrained when someone says "My word, that bit of derailment was not appreciated" with regards to a single thread in a subforum dedicated to discussion outside the forum's theme is ridonk.

Every forum has it's own culture and will portray it's self as the prevalent membership sees fit. That's totally OK. The fact it may be what fifteen or twenty people want doesn't make it any less rude though and telling people "You really shouldn't take issue with this discussion of yours pertaining to matters of significance to you being pooped all over as we're just a terribly wacky bunch" isn't reasonable. If it's the culture a forum wants, great, but that doesn't make people's feelings of disrespect any less valid. It just means they aren't a good fit for the forum as they have differing values.

And, with that, I feel I've pretty clearly demonstrated my values are not compatible with those of this forum and will take my leave.
