Re: Attack of the 50 Foot Cheerleader

I was most disappointed in the green-screen compositing. Really, not that great. They didn't match angles nearly well enough to make the composite. I do like that she has a couple of stages of growth, but the lack of process was upsetting.

The mini-gts interaction stuff could have been a lot better too. No forced perspective stuff, just her standing on object to look taller. Frustrating.

Meh...movie was good. Effects could have used some work, but I guess that's what you get when you have a low budget.

Its mostly cause they wanted to play up the the 3D they'll be putting into the DVD/Blueray release. It was totally blatant since they had scenes of the girls as giants, standing/sitting/walking in front of or behind things. The two scenes that stood out the most were when Cassie and Britney are in the parking lot stepping over cars. I'm pretty sure that's where all the effort in the effects went to and why the scenes lack interaction or little to any effects when they grow.

Re: Attack of the 50 Foot Cheerleader

I have to be honest and say I did not really enjoy the movie, for the most part. Daryl Hannah's growth scene alone in Attack of the 50ft Woman put this entire movie to shame. While the nudity was enjoyable from two of the female leads, everything else was less than tolerable. Even though I expected a lack of process, it was still disappointing. Watching a tight bra snap off was the only process highlight in the entire movie, but Gary and TaylorClips have been doing that kind of effect for years now. Thankfully, I didn't have high hopes for the movie and I am definitely not adding this one to my collection.

Go on, let it fly; you might get a couple people defending it, but if it's really terrible, don't pretend that it's not.

You're not you when you hold back.

Credit where credit is due. They completed a project and got it to air. That's more than most can say.

Re: Attack of the 50 Foot Cheerleader

As far as Budget is concern, the Budget is listed as "only" being one million dollar which is pretty low for movie standards. One has to consider this when judging the effects. And I am pretty sure that doesn't count the advertisement costs.

Its a real shame to hear all this negative feedback. Being from Canada i cant check this out for myself, but ill take your words for it.
Honestly though its pretty obvious what happened here. Everyone hyped this up for MONTHS trying to guess what the movie was going to be like. The movie folks put out a couple teasers with the good bits and everyone got their hopes up. Its a shame really, but thats how she goes.

Re: Attack of the 50 Foot Cheerleader

Negative. Smegative. I went in accepting that they were not making a fetish movie. A million dollar film would never succeed on the wallets of GTS fetishists alone. They were making a shlocky tribute to the silly days of 50's scifi with BOOBIES.

The movie was cheesy, but who thought it would be other than that? I had a fun time with it and was very pleased with how long it took for the protagonist to go from normal to beautiful, to 7 feet, to 50 feet.

The girls were hot and the plot was silly. There was little to no interaction, but there was a lot of good one liners and I was pleased with the rival growing even bigger than the heroine (75 feet) and then shrinking extra small (3 feet) at the end.

I hope they make a "revenge" of the 50 foot cheerleader. With shrinking and growing.

And since it cost me a free trail of EPIX with NO credit card down? Definitely worth the money.

Lots of problems, but fun and sexy.
